Description

Up for auction this week is a rare survivor, a 1966 PONTIAC TEMPEST Custom GTOStation wagon. This Wagon has survived its entire life in sunny Arizona due to the original license plates behind the currentWashington plates.
This car has gone though a complete ground down restoration to bare metal then DP-90 sealed, 5 coats of Dupont High Build primer. Block sanded to get station wagon laser straight then more high build prime and more block sanding.A basecoat/clearcoat paint job was professionally applied with 3 1/2 gallons of new Audi red paint was applied and a significant amount ofclear coat came next. The car has a deep shine with minimal orange peel. The guys at the body shop did an amazing job getting this wagon straight as a arrow.I found a original 1966 GTO hood and a set of1966 GTObucket seats along with a Pontiac center console and shifter to transform the wagon to have more of a GTO look.New GTO grills, GTO emblems, turn signals in grills and door panel emblems.New rug and new headliner and a nice set of door panels along with a new rear seat cover make up the cars interior in black. The rear cargo area has the factory vinyl Pontiac stock Mat and new black vinyl on either side of cargo area to update the rear portion of this wagon.
This wagon sports a 1970 Pontiac 350 engine with a Turbo 350 transmission. 4bbl Edelbrock carburetor with dual exhaust and mellow mufflers.NEW timing chain, alternator, battery, starter, belts, wires all fluids. New brackets were purchased for power steering and alternator set up. New Master cylinder, wheel cylinders, spring kits and shoes are all new as well as brake fluid. The radiator has been boiled, pressure tested and reinstalled and does not leak. The car has Pontiac Rally 2 15 inch rims all round with a set of driver quality tires. New Pontiac center caps were purchased as well. The luggage rack on top is in driver quality and should be re chromed. I was going to get luggage rack re chromed but ran out of funding, Rear window rolls up and down with out fail and has good clean glass free of scratches and stays up without fail.Heavy duty factory trailer hitch is installed too.I had a auto electrician check out the car and he fixed what needed fixing and installed a updated fuse box and wiring. I still have original 326 motor for those who want it.
