1969 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible - Coyote Ugly movie car
Description
This is the Movie Car that was in the film Coyote Ugly. I purchased it over 14 years ago from the film's director at Jerry Bruckheimer's Studio in Santa Monica, CA. I never intended to sell it and have been slowly having it restored over the years. But our family is growing, so it's time to let this awesome classic car go.
It has a 428ci motor, duel exhaust, 4bbl carb, 3 speed automatic transmission, power brakes with discs in the front, power steering, power windows, power convertible top. I had a complete engine rebuild done in 2006. I start the car up every few weeks, but I seldom drive it. There is definitely under 1000 miles on the car since the engine rebuild. The tires are new, thehood insulation is new and most of theweather stripping is new, thehydraulicpumps for the top are new too.
The interior has mostly been redone. It looks great as it is, however there is some cracking where the drivers elbow sits on the doors arm rest, there's a small tear on the outside of the drivers and passengers seat. I captured the one on the passenger side in the photos, the drivers side has one that is identical. The dash is in excellent condition. The fuel gauge and odometer aren't working. A local mechanic tracked down a replacement fuel tank sensor, but it hasn't been installed yet. This and a bunch of other parts will be included with the car.
The heat works, but the vent doors under the dash are missing a piece, so for now it's operated with a toggle cable. It was an AC car but it needs a condenser. The "Hot-Cold, Fan Hi & Low" face for the heater and AC controls is missing, you can see the control knobs with only black behind them in the interior photos.
The canvas top is in very good shape, the canvas is strong and there are no tears. Some of the edge thread could use a restitch. Some sap from a tree got on the top. I'm sure there is a solvent that can remove this. I tried to highlight these in a photo.
I tried to mention everything I could think of that you'd need to get the car closer to perfect condition, I consider these little things. All in all this 1969 Bonneville is in great condition, especially for its age. It runs incrediblywell and has a very strong drive train. It is a 47 year old vehicle so please keep in mind that it is being sold as is. I'm happy to answer any questions, or show the car to anyone that wants to look it over and go for a test drive. Thanks!
