Porsche 914-6 race car 2.3 liter twin plug
Description
This car was built from a 1972 rust free chassis in 2008. The chassis was originally a stock 4 cylinder street car. The car has been predominately raced with the Porsche Club of America as a GT5 class car. The roll cage was done by John Hammill in Albuquerque NM. John's incredible craftsmanship can be seen in Bruce Anderson's book - The Porsche 911 Performance Handbook on page 252. The cage is exceptionally well engineered to maximize the structural rigidity of the car while keeping weight as reasonably low as possible. The cage ties into the front suspension points all the way through to the rear suspension pickup points and to the mounting points of the transmission. The area around the rear suspension inside pivot points is exceptionally strong and tied into the cage as well.
