Description

This 1975 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa is a life-long California car that has 121k miles. The2.7L flat-six is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and was rebuilt by the previous owner with pressure-fed tensioners, 930 lower valve covers, case savers, and SSI stainless-steel heat exchangers. Following hispurchase a year ago, the seller commissioned a $9k repaint that was accompanied by new trim, seals, glass, and gaskets upon reassembly. Other work performed during the seller’s ownership included a new interior in the original red, as as well as refinishing of the factory staggered Fuchs wheels. The car is described as a fully sorted example that is sold with records dating back to over 30+years ago.
Following the success of the Carrera 2.7 RS, Porsche incorporated the Carrera name into its range topping model for the 1974-1975 model years. Differences from a standard 911 included fender flares, a rear spoiler, and the Carrera decals/badging. One of a believed 179 Carrera Targas produced in 1975, this example was given an extensive glass-out repaint in 2016 in the original Black (700) color. Newtrim, seals, gaskets, and glass were also installed.
The staggered Fuchs wheels were refinished at the time as the repaint and are fitted with new BF Goodrich tires.Koni shocks were recently installed and the brakes have been serviced with new rotors.
The car has been outfitted with a completely new interior by noted specialistsK&H European Auto Upholsteryin the original red color. Carpets and leather seat upholstery remain in very good conditionwith little use since the refresh. The original dashpad remains free of splitting, while the dash panel is unmodified and complete. The factory gauges are all in-tact.The front trunk compartment remains clean and tidy, with nice carpet and the factory tool kit, jack, spare, and tire inflator in place.
The 2.7 liter flat-six featuresBosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and was given a full rebuild by the previous owner withpressure-fed tensioners, 930 lower valve covers, case savers, and SSI stainless-steel heat exchangers. A pre-purchase inspection is welcomed by the seller, who describes the car as a very good runner, with consistent performance and smooth shifting from the 5-speed manual transmission. The underside of the body shows equally well, with straight panels and no signs of previous repair work or rust damage.
