In mid-1985, the 944 underwent its first significant changes. These included: a newdashand door panels, embedded radio antenna, upgraded alternator (from 90 amp to 115 amp), increased oil sump capacity, new front and rear castalloycontrol arms and semi-trailing arms, larger fuel tank, optional heated and powered seats, Porsche HiFi sound system, and revisions in the mounting of thetransaxleto reduce noise and vibration. 1985 model year cars incorporating these changes are sometimes referred to as "1985B", "85.5" or "1985½" cars.

Our seller has owned this amazing 944 for over twenty years. After retirement, he realized that his time with his "future collectible" cars was even less than when he was working! His 944 was always properly stored when not in use. It has not been "detailed" in any way and aside from the addition of the alloy wheels (original wheels are included), it is in "all original" condition. The body and paint are "untouched" from the factory. The interior still has the faint "new-car" smell. It has the unavoidable "rub" area on the back of the driver's seat bolster (due to entering and exiting) and has not been dyed or touched up. The original Blaupunktcassete radio is still in place (seems like many were changed out). Mechanically, it is representedby our seller to be well cared for and "turn key" ready to enjoy. The timing belt was changed about 2,000 miles ago, and last year, the service included the oil and coolant change as well as new injectors. On the drive to bring it to us, he said he almost turned around to take it back home, he started to fall in love again... he said we should hurry and sell it before he changes his mind. We believe him!
