Description

Selling this 1978 porsche 924. its a project car as it does need some work, mainly with the fuel injection system. I bought this last year to sell the drivetrain out of it and swap a 4.8 ls chevy engine into it but my back went out on me and I have too many projects on top of that. it is a california car and was last on the road in 2005. Until I bought it last year, it sat in a mans garage outside nashville. He was going to restore it but also had too many projects. It ran last year but had a problem with the fuel injection. It would have throttle response for the first few seconds upon start up and then go to idle with no throttle response. so i'd shut it off, re start and move it around this way. it never smoked, never knocke, never ticked and I had a receipt that showed the timing belt was replaced around 94k miles. So the motor has never jumped time and had any contact problems. I tried to start it today to move around but could not get any power to the starter, bad connection maybe? Not sure but I will look at it some more but it is sold as is. I'm not a Porsche expert at all, so any questions regarding technical specifics might be better researched on your own online. I also noticed a bad plug wire and its parked on a small hill and it seems water has gotten in on the passenger floor, so i will try to move the car to flat ground soon. Floors seems rock solid, being a Ca car its not rotted away like most of this age. The car seems to be complete and stock other then the radio. Everything seems to work except for the power antenna. The front air dam has some dents as do the lower rocker areas and i assume that was from the previous owner not being careful when he loaded it on the trailer. it has a little rust at the bottoms of the front fenders but cannot find any other serious rust. There is surface rust where the paint has flaked off but no rust through on the main body. its a 4 cyl non turbo and manual transmission. Part it out and use the shell for a race car etc *********. ************, I was supposed to get a title from the person I bought it from but never did get one from him. The listing would not allow me a "NO TITLE" option, so I had to select rebuilt. So car will be sold with a notarized bill of sale if you'd like. Pickup available at my place, can also meet at the corbin ky I-75 exit to load from my trailer to yours. delivery may be available for an agreed upon fee which will be paid for in advance. I will work with buyer on pickup/delivery time as well. Please ask any serious questions or request specific pics etc. I will do my best to answer them. I'm open to pay pal/partial trades for 7.62x39 related items, V8 Ford engines 351w or 351c, 429/460, 72-76 torino, ranchero, montego type stuff. Otherwise pay pal always works.
