1965 Porsche 356, C2 Tribute Car. Professional every nut and bolt restoration.
Description
This 1965 Porsche 356 has been fully restored and has only about 100 test miles since restoration.
The every nut-and-bolt restoration tool about 2 years. The car was completely disassembled, everything was removed off the body,it was media blasted to bare metal. The few rusted parts were replaced with new panels - mainly the floors and the some of the small surroundingparts. The car was then repainted with the correct 1965 Porsche silver paint, using nothing but Glasurit materials.
The non-number matching engine was fully rebuilt, with new pistons and cylinders, new performance cam, new valves, valve springs, oil pump,Weber carburetors that were customfitted under the correct Solex air cleaners (looks original). All engine tin was powdercoated. New Carrera C2 typesport exhaust. The engine runs very well - it has a lot of power and a sound that one would expect from a car with the C2 muffler and the sport cam, deepthroaty performance engine growl. The transmission was also fully rebuilt, with new syncros, seals and bearings. The clutch is new, of course.All of the braking system was rebuilt - calipers were plated & rebuilt, new hoses, pads, master cylinder etc. The shocks are new Konis. The suspensionarms have all new bushings & seals. The wheel bearings & seals are new. The brake rotors are new. The taillights, headlights & front turn signals are new.All new rubber & weatherstrip. New windshield. All chrome was redone. The aluminum was polished & anodized. New correct headliner, all new leather interiorincluding the dash & door panels. The instruments were restored, silk screened & calibrated. The car has a rebuilt & correct radio. The car has a brand newGerman wire harness and a new Optima battery, hidden under a retro battery cover that makes it look like the correct original 1965 6-volt battery. The carstill has the 6-volt system in it. The steering wheel is a fully restored vintage Porsche wood wheel. All of the pedal assembly, shifthing mechanism, heatersystem etc are all rebuilt. The seat hinges were re-chromed and restored. The rare headrests were restored - all hardware was recromed to new look.The seat belts were custom made and date coded to 1965. The car comes with original California 1963 plates "POP 356", also restored.The wheels are new reproduction items, with new Vredestein tires, all 5. The trunk is fully detailed and insulated using the correct factory type insulators.The engine compartment is also fully insulated using the correct factory type insulation. This was not a quickie restoration where corners are cut - everything waseither replaced, restored or repaired.
