Relisting due to non-serious bidder - please only bid if you wish to purchase the vehicle.

Carfax certified, clean tile. All matching VIN stickers on front bumper, hood, driver fender, passenger fender, driver door, passenger door, driver door jamb, passenger door jamb, and rear hatch frame.

This 944 Turbo S has been my fair weather daily driver in Portland, OR for just over a year now. It has seen temperatures below freezing on nice winter days and sometimes above 100F in summer, both highway driving and rush hour traffic. During this time there have been no issues, no overheating, no warning lights, no starting or idling problems, nothing. The car is very comfortable, quiet, solid, and handles just like it should. I’d feel confident driving this car anywhere, in any environment, at any speed.

To make this a maintenance-free vehicle for the lucky new owner, the following services have been performed. ALL items below have less than one hundred (100) miles on them and were performed on 6/16/17.

  • Timing belt, tensioner, and rollers -new owner should inspect and re-tension the new belt inless than 2000miles, per Clarks Garage http://www.clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/maint-01.htm
  • Oil Change (Brad Penn 20w-50, genuine Porsche oil filter) – I will also include enough extra BP oil and another genuine filter to cover the next oil change.
  • Transmission change (Red Line 75W90 NS GL-5)
  • Brake/Clutch Hydraulic flush (ATE TYP 200 Dot 4)
  • Coolant flush (Pentofrost NF Nitrate Free Blue Antifreeze)
  • Stoptech street brake pads and new wear sensors on all four corners

THE INTERIOR of this car is awesome and is a great example of how well this car has been taken care of. From the dark, rich black carpet, to the near-perfect dash, it is obvious this Turbo S has always been garage kept. Never smoked in, no weird smells, and no pets have been in this car. After a thorough inspection, I cannot find one single screw, cap, cover, or piece of trim that is missing from the interior. All power seat functions on both driver and passenger sides work, all gauges work, the sunroof operates exactly as it did when new and is easily removable, the rear cargo/privacy cover retracts as it should, andthe power locks, windows, and side-view mirrorswork. Even the cruise control and factory security alarm are fully functional. The only aftermarket parts you will find are a new genuine leather shift boot, new LCD clock display, CD player (old one broke and was discarded, but original equalizer is included), boost gauge, and Lloyd turbo script floor mats front and rear. I will also include a pair of front all-weather floor mats for those not-so-nice days.

You will also be happy to find that a working air compressor, complete tool kit, leather sunroof storage bag, leather front bumper car bra, keyed wheel locks and key, strut damper adjustment tool, 944-specific windshieldsun shade, carpet dash cover, and outdoor car cover all come with the car.

THE EXTERIOR of this 944 is also in great condition, considering its age. No dents! The paint shines and is very presentable. The windows are tinted and blend well with the color of the car. It certainly has a sleek look to it. There are no major scratches – the only exception being a gouge in the driver’s headlight cover that has been hidden with touch-up paint (see photo). The car has the rare factory rear window wiper delete, so there is no wiper or hole/plug on the hatch. The car comes with Euro fog lights installed which are only a few years old and have been protected with a yellow-tinted film. The only significant wear to the exterior is the front bumper, where you will find road rash and one crack from parking over a curb (see photo).

THE ENGINE of this Porsche is stock and original, with the exception of some hose clamps and silicone vacuum hoses. I had a compression check performed and the engine yielded a very healthy 140/140/145/145. The car does leak a little oil – enough to wet the bottom side of the engine. I never saw any spots of oil on the ground when parked at work, but there were a few drops on the ground when it sat in my garage for weeks at a time (it’s not my only car). I would consider the leak at a normal/acceptable level for a 944 turbo and I am pretty confident it’s coming from the AOS and rear cam tower seals. That is the only fluid leak that I can find. No coolant or power steering leaks. The water pump was replaced during the previous timing belt replacement. This particular 944 turbo runs very cool – rarely jumping much higher than the first line on the temp gauge. The cooling fans, fan relay, turbocharger cooling pump and its relay are all functioning properly. No overheating issues with this one. At some point the AC was converted to 134a, but it does not blow very cold. I never attempted a recharge.

THE CLUTCH was replaced by the previous owner August 2012 and has roughly 15k miles of use. He installed a Cup Sport clutch and clutch accessory kit, including clutch lever shaft and reconditioned release arm. No expense spared. The clutch master and slave cylinders were replaced at the same time. The transmission shifts smoothlyand clutch engagement/disengagement feels solid. The car is very enjoyable to operate.

CONS

Although minor, there are some cosmetic items you may wish to address with this vehicle to clean it up and upgrade it from daily driver status.

  • There is a small crack in the windshield, passenger-side. It is mostly unnoticeable and I forget it’s there. It has not spread or gotten worse in 10+ years.
  • There is a small rust spot on the driver-side a-pillar. It’s not very large and could probably be covered up with some touchup paint, but to properly fix it the windshield would need to be removed. (great excuse to replace the cracked windshield).
  • The front bumper shows road rash/rock chips, and has a crack on the passenger’s side from parking over a curb.
  • The driver’s headlight cover has a scrape in it that has been covered with touchup paint.
  • The front passenger wheel has some curb rash and the wheels were painted a darker silver color at one time
  • The driver seat has some minor bolster wear.
  • If I’m nitpicking, the paint could use a good claybar. There are a few spots of tree sap on the hood that I have not tried removing

Overall, this is a very clean and solid 944 Turbo S. From the complete interior to the sleek exterior, it is very apparent that this vehicle has always been well taken care of. If you have any questions, concerns, need more photos, videos, or just like talking about 944s, do not hesitate to contact me. If you are local to the Portland, Oregon area, please stop by and see the car for yourself. Pictures and words do not do it justice. Sold as-is, where-is, although I am more than happy to help coordinate shipping for a non-local buyer.
