1983 Porsche 911 - rebodied | restored wide body turbo look
Description
* Re-listing because previous winning bidder disappeared after he paid the deposit (it has been 5 weeks, how much longer should I wait?). I wrote to him once a week for the last month before giving up and to date I have not received a response from him. I reserve the right to end bidding early and sell it to him if he mysteriously reappears, not sure what happened to him but I hope everything is okay.
Restoration details: color code correct to the original, black 1983 Porsche 911 cabriolet with tan interior. Car has 51,130 original miles and was professionally restored in 2006 by German specialty shop in Texas with Getty Design racing grade carbon fiber. If you don't know who they are, look them up, based in California they've been in the business for 30 years.
Overall condition: very good. Clean title, original engine and transmission. No rust, no smoke, no noises of any kind, ever. This was a show car at the Larz Anderson Museum in Brookline, MA, and took 2nd place Best Modified category, behindBaddu Nvasnth's1987 911 that took the 1st place prize.
Interior: very supple leather - no tears, no rips, no stretches. Dash, door panels and carpets are excellent. FactoryAC / air conditioning installed and functioning.
Exterior:paint shines like a mirror, very nice from 3-5 feet with some minor normal wear. The canvas top is new - no leaks, no rips, functions as expected. Wheels are 993 turbo wheels with Porsche Tequipment original center caps. Doors and front hood are original steel; all quarter panels, front and rear bumpers, rockers, whale tail, and lights were replaced during the restoration.
Mechanicals: everything functions as it should, including the e-brake. Clutch, brakes, and tires are at approximately 60-65% in my opinion - plenty of life left. Exhaust has been upgraded to custom fitted Fabspeed euro straight pipe and dual outlet exhaust ($1,700 receipt).
Maintenance: receipts dated from May 2 2017 include the following ($1,200):- Replaced oil return tube- Replaced strainer gasket- Replaced oil filter- Performed oil change with 5w40 full synthetic motor oil- Repaired and replaced shifter assembly and worn bushings- Replaced fan belt and adjusted tension- Realigned windows and replaced stop gaps- Re-tightened exterior door handles- Removed interior door panels and re-tightened everything- Checked power window motor and rewired
Power windows, oil level indicator, oil temperature and oil pressure indicators, odometer, speedometer, tach, etc are all fully operational.
