Description

Brief history of this automobile: 1966 Porsche 912 Garage find. This car has been in storage for at least 25 years. Upon research of the historical pictures that were gifted by the previous owner. The car appears to be in its original condition in red paint in Germany pre 1976. From the pictures and the historical documents in German print it looks that at sometime between 1976 and 1979 a steel mid 70’s Porsche widebody fenders and bumpers were added to the car -see photos.

The current motor in the vehicle (from looking up motor numbers appears to be a type 4, 72-74 1700cc) it appears in the photos and the car was painted red. In the 1980s the car was imported to Oklahoma and given to the owners son. The son had the car painted yellow in the late 1980s(from the photos). The car was driven and then stored in the early 90s when he went into the military. The car was purchased around 10 years ago by my neighbor and then titled in 2012 after he got the car running. I have been telling my neighbor for years, if you ever want to sell that Porsche, I will buy it. His uncle passed away a few months back and he left him a family ca, so he decided to sell. I have always been an old Ford guy and have made similar offers on old cars around town and it so happens that my dream car has popped up and I don’t have space for the Porsche.

I have not taken the time to try and get the vehicle running but I did put a little time into cleaning it up. Upon cleaning the car up I realized the front pans are in need of replacing as are a few of the common rust areas. (See pictures). By no means is this vehicle a rust bucket. The rear pans look to be in great shape and show no signs of decay. The wide body fenders hav no cracks and the inner fenders look perfect. The front suspension mounts look good and the rear strut mounts look good. This would be a amazing start to a classic Porsche or a track car.

This car is probably not for you restoration guy, but would make a killer HotRod. I do own and operate a full service fabrication shop and would offer my services to repair the rust damage. Those arrangements can be made as this process moves forward. This vehicle was previously listed and sold on eBay. The out of country purchaser was not able to

arange shipping and we agreed to cancel the sell. Please inform me via eBay or email if anyone sees this vehicle listed anywhere else. This vehicle is only listed on eBay as of 12/5/17. Thankyou
