Description

Ebay system wouldn't accept the European VIN so I had to bypass their system by saying the car is a 1980. It is a 1985 Euro 928S, NOT a 1980.
You're viewing my ultra rare 1985 Euro 928S. This is a very rare 5 speed manual car! The car runs and drives excellent! Clutch feels perfect. The car only has 57,569 original miles (will go up slightly as I drive the car occasionally). There are no electrical gremlins with my car. The rear wiper isn't working as I believe the motor died. Everything else works as they should. Air conditioning is ICE cold! I have two owners manuals...the original German one and an English version to translate (notice in the pics the gauge warning lights are in German, warning lights are only on from turning key without starting engine to demonstrate them). Upgraded stereo.
The paint is in very good condition but with a car that is 33 years old, there are a few minor imperfections but nothing that detracts from the beauty of my car. The black paint is deep and shiny, and looks fantastic as you can see. Doors close perfectly like a bank vault! Excellent gaps all around. The leather interior is in almost perfect shape, showing only very minimal wear. The dash is in excellent condition. Original leather seats look almost new. Both front seats are heated. Door panels are very nice. Carpet is in great shape and floor mats are brand new. Space saver spare and tools are in back.
Rims look excellent all around. Tires will need replaced soon. I haven't replaced them because they are a personal choice item and the new owner might like something different than what I would choose. Brakes are excellent. Clutch is excellent. No synchro issues, shifts beautifully.
Inside the cabin, the Euro cars have an adjustable headlight height knob (next to the stereo fader and trunk switch next to the driver's seat). Pretty cool feature. US cars never offered this option. The knobs to open the rear hatch aren't working. I simply use the key.
The Euro 4.7 liter V8 is slightly smaller than its 5.0 liter US brethren, however it's significantly more powerful. US cars are rated around 288hp. The Euro cars are rated at 310hp, however they typically dyno between 330-350hp! Having the rare and highly desirable 5 speed manual tranny makes the car a blast to drive, and much more valuable! The exhaust note emits a wonderful growl that will put a smile on your face every time you drive her! The car was recently serviced by my long time mechanic who specializes in Porsche's. The timing belt was inspected and it's in great shape. This is not an interference engine like the 5.0 liter US version, so catastrophic damage isn't an issue if it should fail at some future time. But again, it was changed just a few thousand miles ago and is healthy. *I'm also selling on here my 1986 928S that is an automatic car, and the difference in power and quickness is huge.
My car is an excellent driver, and a great investment as the Euro 5 speed cars are amongst the most desirable 928's right along side the later GTS models (which low mile 5 speed examples are bringing $120k+++!!! These Euro 5 speed cars are expected to top $100k in 5 years. One of the last Euro 5 speed cars that went thru auction on "Bring A Trailer" sold for $43k, and it had 96k miles and a replacement block! It was Blue over grey leather, which is pretty but not nearly as desirable as black on black! Mine is original numbers matching and has almost half the miles. I'll let you guys determine its value here. I'm starting the bidding at a very low $20k with no reserve. I will end the auction early for the right price. I would love to hold onto my cars, but we are selling our river house and buying at the beach. I need to raise as much capital as possible, therefore I'm selling off several of my collection. *Coming soon, I will sadly be selling my beautiful Signal Orange 1970 911E coupe that I'm almost done restoring/rebuilding.
The new owner will be most pleased with this car. As with any older used car, it is being sold "as is" with no warranties expressed or implied. I am a private collector of classic sports cars, mostly air cooled Porsche's. Ask any questions PRIOR to bidding. Please only bid if you have your finances in order, and permission from your significant other.
$500 PayPal deposit due immediately following the auction and balance is to be bank wired within 3 business days. No exceptions.
I will gladly sell to overseas buyers. Shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
