1959 356 B “Single Grill”
This car was delivered to its original owner on the 4thof December 1959 in California, a Major I.W. Kirkbride. A very well optioned car from new. Options included, chrome wheels, Leather Armrest, Leather headrests and also a heavy-duty wiper motor. Car is finished today in a very patina’d blue paintwork and what remains of its red leather interior. Drivers door, front hood hinge and also rear deck lid all wear the last 3 digits of the VIN#, whilst the passenger door is not original. Factory tags are present and located on the driver’s door pillar where Porsche left them in 59, original rivets remain, an untouched car this! The Supplied Kardex for this car also states the transmission is the original factory item and is indeed numbers matching.
This car was ordered with many options for a Military gentleman and will be a beautiful car once restored. The original engine is long gone, there is much to do, floors, sheet – metal, a restoration for the experienced not the DIY-er.
All of this being taken into consideration, this is a highly original car and an opportunity to restore a 1959 model 356. Again, this car would have been a stunning Blue on Blue example with colour coded luggage rack – a very striking presence for sure. We ship worldwide, please contact us for a quotation, car is available for inspection at your leisure.
