Description
Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very good, well-preserved 911 T that was just purchased out of an airplane hanger in Tennessee. This car was owned by the previous seller for about the past 15 years, being purchased from his good friend before that. It has been used little during his ownership. This car runs and drives but could use a minor service to perform perfectly. The body on this car is exceptionally good and honest showing an older, modest, single repaint over the original Bahia Red. Panel gapping looks great with zero signs of an accident. The car presents fine as a driver from 10 feet and could be put into use as is. The paintwork is showing some usual chips, scratches, scrapes, some spidering associated with age. The windshield has been replaced at one time. All of the other glass looks excellent. A Turbo-look tail has just been removed, so the car needs an engine grille (available new or used). The car's underside is amazingly solid and very well-preserved, save for the typical rust spot under the battery/LH suspension area and a very small spot to the left of the driver's feet. The car's interior appears to be extremely original including the seats, remaining carpets, dash facia panel kit, Targa top, etc. The dashboard has it's typical cracks and needs replacement. The driver's seat is breaking down a little. The front carpets have been removed. Overall, its usable but tatty. It could be tidied up and preserved for a driver, or just re-trimmed. The car's original steering wheel is included. The car's believed matching numbers engine starts easily on the key with very good oil pressure, zero smoke or noises, and feels excellent. The previous owner had his friend rebuild the carbs, but they need proper tuning/adjustment (We're currently waiting to take the car to specialist for this). The car drives well with good clutch action, nice syncros, light and positive steering. Brakes are a bit sticky/dragging. There are brakes kits included in the spare parts for this. The seller stated that the engine was rebuilt at one time, but there's no documentation for this...The car also has desirable factory air conditioning.Overall, this well-preserved and original 911 T Targa is a superb car for easy improvement, and offers a nice combination of options. With little effort, it could become the perfect preserved daily driver, or could benefit from a light cosmetic restoration. Please look at all pictures and call or email with any questions.
