1977 Porsche Florida Car NO RESERVE!!!
Description
Reluctantly selling the last of my collector cars. I'm getting too lame to get in and out out of my '77 Porsche 924. I've owned it 15 years, my late brother- in- law for 15 before that. The car was sold new by Reeves-Birdsong Motors in Tampa, FL where it spent it's first 13 years. Owner's manual and other provenance are included. It was brought north and purchased by my bro-in-law in 1990. He always garaged it, and it never saw winter. I bought it from him when he could no longer get in and out, as he wanted to keep it in the family. Going through it, I found a burnt valve, so I had the head done by Gardner Competition Engine-(the owner is our VFW Commander). I gave it 4-new tires and a battery and fuel pump a couple of years ago. I probably drove it only a few hundred miles since the valve work, and less than a hundred on the tires. The car runs and drives fine. The body is solid with only minor (repaired) rust on rocker panel. There is also repair on the bottom of the LF fender, where a tire and wheel rolled into it when it was stored in my garage. There is a dent/ paint damage around the L taillight where my daughter backed into it last summer. The paint has a few nicks and scratches and slight orange peel, but is shiny and looks good from ten feet. The pictures show that none of this is a big deal. Porsche graphic seat covers hide repairable seam splits. The dash pad needs replaced, and is currently covered with an aftermarket carpet cover. Floor and hatch carpets are very good., as are door panels. All glass is good. The removable sunroof is workable, but should have one latch replaced. The fuse and relay block for the lighting needs troubleshooting. I had the car under a car cover outside for a few days this summer while I prepared my garage for a class reunion. Humidity caused problems which did not exist before that storage. Gotta be an easy fix for a person handy w/ 12 volt circuitry. I am including several new relays which may or may not be needed. I go south for the winter and need my one- car condo garage to store my truck in while I'm away, so I would like avoid another year of Porsche storage if I can. I originally planned to do the stuff above, and sell in the spring, but would rather sell it now, so I am listing it at NO RESERVE. In determining the value, I used NADA, VMR Collector Car Market Review, Hagertys, and Unique Cars and Parts value guides. If you are interested in this Porsche, check them or any other valuation source, and you will find the car to be a very good investment, particularly with the starting bid less than half of those values. I can scan and email those results if you would like, it took a while to find them. I will assist the buyer any way I can, with help in arranging shipping, airport pickup and the like. I'm a car guy, and want to see someone get it who really wants it. This is a fun car to drive and cruise in, at a very affordable cost. Bid now, win the auction, and watch it grow in value!
