You are bidding on a very original, un-molested, un-restored 1960 356B T5. Lots of records dating back to 1967. Car came from San Francisco I am the second titled owner and have a clear title in my name as well the black plates are current. I do not have a COA but in speaking with the original owner, Stoddard and Johnston's reference, the engine and transmission are original to the car. 600364, type 616/1, VIN 109104 makes this a 1960 356B Reutter coupe 1600. Records an notes from 1967 show that this car has only 26119 miles.
No restoration has ever been done to this car, all panels are original and stamped 104, perfect panel fit, non kinked hood, no clips, the only rust issue is a hole in the battery box and a small separation on the drivers floor. All other panels are solid and wear the factory asphalt style undercoat. Car was originally Aetna Blue 740 but was painted yellow in the early seventies and now is showing lots of wear. I purchased this car several years ago with the intention of doing a refresh back to the Aetna blue but the car is almost to cool to do anything with. It runs, steers, stops and shifts great, date stamped rims 7/59.. I have used this car many time in local PCA events, car shows and cruises. If you're in Southern California you might have seen this car on these events. It cruises at 70 mph all day long on the freeway. I had the carbs rebuilt, gas tank cleaned, bushings and suspension work done to make this 356 reliable.
All electrics work, gages are clear and work as new, lights, signals all work even the original radio works. I had the front seats redone at Autos International as they were getting flat, interior is still fine. Still retains its 6 volt system.
I am a long time PCA and 356 Registry Member.
