We are delighted to offer this beautiful and thoroughly refinished A1Black on Champagneleather 1987Porsche Carrera 3.2 Targa with renowned G50 transmission. This documented, numbers-matching vehicle was originally purchased in September 1987 from Sterling Motors in Newport Beach.
It has spent its life in California, first Newport Beach, then Santa Barbara and then back to Newport Beach prior to purchase by local doctor two years ago as a project to fulfill his air-cooled dream.
What followed was a bare metal, windows out re-paint with multiple coats of color sanded PPG enamel, fresh rubber and door window felts, complete interior rehabilitation with hand-selected color matching European leather hides, fresh European carpeting, new top and headliner, and Blaupunkt stereo.
A nearly full mechanical restoration was performed including first-quality engine rebuild by the renowned Porsche mechanic Craig Donaldson at Image Imports in Orange County at a cost of $11,600.00. Air Conditioning retrofit and refresh with new blower, new brakes, rotors, caliper re-build, suspension rebuild with new Bilstein Shocks, new Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08 205/55R16 and 225/50 R16 tires mounted on beautifully restored Fuch wheels.
The car operates and drives beautifully and shows as new. This gorgeous gem is presented with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, its original window sticker, owner’s manual and records including service and restoration receipts. The car is a proven driver, with an odometer reading of 154k miles. Mileage cannot be verified as an unexplained discrepancy is noted on an otherwise clean Carfax.
This vehicle represents a labor of love and attention to detail, with tens of thousands of dollars expensed in parts and man hours focused entirely on producing a durable and dependable driver that will turn heads wherever it goes.
