1987 Porsche 928 S4. Runs and drives great. Recently serviced.
Description
1987 Porsche 928 S4. Venice Blue w/linen interior and blue piping. Automatic shifts smooth.Runs/drives great with recent service. The car shows 108K on the odometer but it just recently stopped working along with fuel gauge. Carfax backs up mileage. I bought the car two years ago while I was living in Chicago from a gentleman who had owned it for 20+years and had kept it in long-term storage for some time. We went through the car and did a major service at a reputable shop which included water pump, timing belt(see receipt), new (Toyo) rear tires, new battery, and new ECU($1K) from specialized ECU repair in Florida (warrantied for 5 years). We would have done front tires but they were back ordered at the time. The car has been in heated storage since. I brought the car east with me when I moved last year. The car is now located in Weston, Massachusetts about 20 minutes from Boston. There are no rattles, the steering is tight, it fires right up, and runs/drives great except it still needs new front tires(flat spot). Exhaust sounds great. No cracks in the main part of the dash but a few small ones on the top of the instrument cluster. Leather headliner is in good shape. Both door cards are in good shape. All original books are present. Paint is in good shape overall and appears original except for frontbumper which has been resprayed. Rear wing, glass, and hatch trim are in good shape. No visible rust on body or undercarriage.
All windows work, sunroof works, both power mirrors and power seats work, front and rear wipers, defroster, power locks, HVAC works and A/C compressorkicks on but it is cold here so I don't know if it is still blowing cold or not. All exterior lights, instrument lights, stereo in good working order. Both the fuel gauge and the odometer recently stopped working at the same time but again, carfax backs up mileage.
The car really just needs some TLC. What it needs: Front bumper has a scrape and needs to be repainted at some point. Interior leather/carpets need a good cleaning(linen is notoriously dirty but this isn't that bad). Front plastic spoiler sags slightly because of a missing screw. Driver's seat has a tear in the bolster but rest of seats and leather are in good shape. It will needa two new front tires as they have a flat spot. Again, rear tires are brand new with less than 5 miles on them. This is a mechanically good, recently serviced, time-capsule of sorts that needs some TLC. Happy to answer any and all questions. Clean title/registration in hand. Thanks for looking!
