Drivetrain is strong -- 3.0 runs well, gearbox feels fine, clutch take up is good. Motor sounds healthy and has Carrera tensioners. Steering is tight and brakes stop well with new tires on 17-inch Ruf-style wheels and recent rear brake work (lines and left caliper). Cosmetically it's a "15-footer" -- older, low-budget repaint is shiny but is showing its age with plenty of flaws. It's not rusty, though. Interior is serviceable with dash and seats in good condition but missing the driver's door pocket and needing some general TLC. Most body seals (Targa top, door seals, etc) are pretty tired.
Gauges work except fuel; fresh air blower and sliders work, radio works, lights work, power windows work, wipers don't. Engine compartment heater blower, some heater flexible hoses and some A/C components are missing. Heat exchangers have some rust but exhaust is in decent shape and heater boxes move freely. Some dents and dings in rockers and floor pans. Throttle linkage and shift linkage is sloppy, axle boots are split. Clean CarFax, clear title, owner's manual and service book.
This SC is a great candidate for a "rolling restoration" -- drive and enjoy it while taking care of its needs. For more information about this 1982 Porsche 911 SC Targa for sale at Motorcar Studio in Atlanta, please call 404-692-5250.
