Description

Motorweek once stated: "Porsche 944 Turbo owners will get a car that's much more than just fast. They'll get a machine in which the suspension and brakes have been carefully tailored to its powerful purpose. They'll get a machine in which all the parts are working in concert. They'll get the best balanced high performance car we've ever tested."
This 944 Turbo, or 951 as some call it,is in beautiful condition. It's a great street car, but also well-modified for those with aspirations for the track. The front-engine, rear-transmission, design of the 944, gives it nearly a perfect front-rear weight balance, which makes this one of the best handling cars ever made. A prior owner had a Lindsey Racing Kit installed upgrading the turbo, intercooler, waste gate, injectors, 4" exhaust w/high flow cat, and computer tweaks to get the most out of this car. Wheels have been upgraded to Turbo-twists from a 911 Turbo for maximum grip, and the car has been repainted and finished with a modern clear coat. The front nose panel has been replaced with an after-market part to allow for better airflow through the intercooler and a boost adjustment knob has been added to the interior.Despite the engine upgrades, the car passes Colorado emission tests with flying colors.
Mechanically, the car is in great condition. Prior to purchasing the car, I had it inspected by a Porsche mechanic and have addressed all the issues identified: The timing belt and engine beltswere replaced in Fall 2014, and the rear glass was resealed (a common problem with these cars). The rear headliner is a little warped from where the rear glass had leaked prior to being re-sealed. The steering rack was rebuilt in 2015 with new seals to resolve leaking issues and new o-rings installed on the Turbo to resolve an oil leak. The battery was also replaced in Fall 2014. AC has been converted to R134 and blows cold. Front seats and arm rest have been recovered, but the dash is cracked (as you will find in nearly every 944). The power moon-roof still needs repair (another common problem with the 944.) The interior carpet is showing a little age and there is a small dent behind the right rear wheel (not even visible in the pics). The car has a recent Alpine CD player with AUX jack, but the rear speakers need to be updated. The engine runs very strong, andcompression test shows 130psi consistent cross all 4 cylinders.
Car was in a minor collision which damaged the right front fender under the prior owner, as indicated by the Autocheck report. You cannot tell the car was ever damaged.
I have receipts for all work done since Fall 2014, but no maintenance records prior to that.
