Description

1977 PORSCHE 911 S TARGA. GUARDS RED WITH BLACK TRIM. 5-SPEED. 2.7 LITERS. 116,671 MILES. RUSTFREE, EXCELLENT DRIVER.Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very nice driving 911 Targa. This car was just purchased from it’s long term owner in Illinois who just wasn’t using the car enough. The car appears to be 100% rustfree. The body has had some mild period updates and the car is fitted with wider tires, but looks very attractive overall for an air-cooled 911 driver quality car.The body on this car looks very clean and straight with excellent fitting panels. The car appears to have been originally Silver. The current red paintwork is older, showing some chips here and there, but is still very attractive, vibrant, and glossy for a road car. There is some slight variation in color on the driver’s door (darker) but only in the right light. There is some minor bubbling just below the fuel filler area. A removed whale tail has left 4 holes in the engine lid that need to be filled. The car’s interior trim looks to be very original. The seats are very comfortable but are showing some splits. The dashboard looks pretty nice. The gauges are all functioning properly. Little would be needed to bring the interior up to the next level or two…The car’s engine starts nicely on the key after a few winds. It bursts to life with good oil pressure, a healthy exhaust note, no noises- all good signs of a healthy unit. The clutch bites well and the gearbox shifts fine, although 3rd gear syncro is slightly weak. The car steers and stops well, rides nice on it’s larger tire/wheel set.Overall, this 1977 Porsche 911 S Targa has had some body and wheel updates and is a very attractive, good driving car. It can be enjoyed right away as is, or is an excellent basis in the future to return the car back to it’s stock appearance. Please look at all pictures and call or email with any questions. We will assist in shipping worldwide.
