1989 PORSCHE 911 CAB ANNIVERSARY EDITION
Description
up for sale is a 1989 G50 911 cab with the 098 anniversary option.
it was owned by an engineer for many years that did all his own maintenance.
car has 213k miles on it but i runs great. pulls strong. blows no smoke. you'd never guess it has that many miles on it.
carfax does show an accident although i looked carefully and see no evidence of any damage underneath the car.
the original 3.2 liter motor pulls strong. starts right up and not a lick of smoke. you can see from the pic of the engine compartment that it was obviously well cared for. I do not have any documentation of a rebuild but i do see what looks like sealant on the case halves and chain box to case seams. g50 transmission shifts perfect. the clutch holds strong.
the body on this car is spectacular. being an arizona car there is not a spec of rust anywhere on it. the previous owner somehow got the insurance company to paint the entire car and it looks amazing. the entire outside is great. all the rubber is very nice, the wheels look new and are the option code 098 6" & 8" x 16's, the spoiler is supple. only the tail lights show some fading. the convertible top is in good shape and works as it should. the back window is a little hazy but you can still see through it. i have the original boot cover and also the wind screen that goes behind the front seats that also come with the car.
the shocks are tight. the brakes work as they should. the tires have plenty of tread left on them. the steering is tight. all the electrical equipment works as it should.
this car has an aftermarket a/c that blows COLD even in the south florida heat. updated compressor, all hoses, now condenser in front and an additional condenser in the rear driver wheel well with fan.
the interior needs a little love. mainly the carpet. this was intended to be the next project before the owner decided to sell it. the dash is in good shape with no cracks. door panels are good. seats are so-so. driver seat has a split seam on the bottom that goes all the way across. it has the console that is specific to the 098 option code. the rear seats are in good shape, just a little dirty. steering wheel is like new. basically with a new carpet set, possibly seats and a good cleaning the interior would be really nice.
from what i can see these anniversary editions go for 50-60k. given the condition and miles i think $39500 obo is a good starting point. even without the 098 option it is still a last year g50 cab in nice shape. i have a folder with a bunch of receipts as well as the original window sticker and owner's books and manuals. original spare, jack, tools and compressor also come with car.
i encourage you to come and take a look. it really is a stunning car in person. car is in hollywood, fl. i have a trailer and can deliver it within reason.
