Up for sale is my 1979 928 Porsche(These early 5sp cars are gaining in value and becoming more and more collectible.)

Video coming soon………..

Don’t let the poor black primer fool you. This car has 59,045 original miles. The interior is in good condition considering the cars age.

I am regrettably selling this car as I needed to buy a tractor and spend time redoing my 1-acre lawn and tending to the rest of my property.

If you know 928’s and VDO Odometers you will know they are prone to failure. This one was working when I purchased it and would sporadically stop and then start.I then replaced the gear, so it will work without problem and keep the mileage accurate.

THE GOOD:

Engine runs Great and Warm Up Regulator works great when cold

Nice interior

New (I think Leather soft doesn’t feel like vinyl) Recovered Seats Quality NICE!!!

5 speed Manual in good condition

Suspension and steering excellent!

New Brakes and they work extremely well (some say the earlier brakes are not as good, but these surprised me at how positive the brake feel is)

Refurbished Original 16” Phone Dial Wheels (Center caps were also polished)

New Tires

Fresh Oil Change and other fluids good

Power windows and switches work great

All lights, signals, flashers, brights, dash lights, dome lights work

Timing Belt changed by previous owner (however this is a non-interference motor, so you don’t need to worry like the later models.)

Drivers Side Seat all power works (Passenger does not at the moment needs relay or?)

No warning lights on and they do work.Washer fluid will come on when low.

Headlight squirters work (window washers don’t This is common as the intensive wiper system has check valves and the motors fail and system needs cleaned well. Not bad, but a little project)

Rear wiper works and has new blade.

Front wipers work as well as delay and new blades.

New cheap Blaupunkt radio, mp3 player (comes with original Blaupunkt and I powered it on, but no sound) (factory amp still behind radio as well.) (Antenna not powered on, but alternate remote antenna installed behind radio)

New rear speakers (larger than factory, but look good)

THE NOT SO GOOD:

The obvious the paint (car is straight though and no signs of any accident damage.I have had the door panel off, the rear bumper, the fender liners, and been around the car a lot and have seen nothing.

AC is there, but does not cool.

Passenger side seat electrics are not working (you can move this forward and back manual though and easier than later models. There is a tool in the back and you slide it in a tube and push over and it slides.

Rear defrost has power in the back and switch works, but the lines are not conducting very well. You can buy a new grid if this is important to you. There is a company online “frost fighter” I think that you can give them the dimensions and overlay it over the old grids.

The rear interior panels in the hatch are in good condition but one side has separated at the top.

Rear seats are in good condition.(one side has scratches on the top, touched up, so you can’t see well) missing plastic release levers.Cheap here on eBay.Just forgot to order them.I leave seats down.My 6yr old and 9yr old love the back seats though.Perfect for smaller kids.

If you have any more questions please email and I will do my best to answer or I can talk to you over the phone if you provide your phone in the email.

I want this to go to a good home and at a fair price!I have done my best to describe the condition of this car as accurately as possible, so the buyer knows what they are getting.

Buyer is responsible for shipping. I will assist in loading.
