1979 Porsche 911 SC Targa 2-Door 3.0L
Description
1979 Porsche 911 Targa 3.2 Motronics Turbo
Started off as 1979 Targa with low mileage chassis. Previous owner wanted a well rounded Targa without the added bling of wings and flares but yet wanted to have enough well balanced enjoyable car when it came to the weekend drives. He decided increase the fun factor by replacing the 3.0 with a low mileage 3.2 off a late Carrera and management has been carried over with Motronics. Normally that would have been a great project for most people but this was only the start. When he realized that wasn’t enough he went over to the gurus at protomotive and looked at ways of getting a reliable stealth power. A low boost (5-6 lbs) system was customized for the 3.2 producing a very reliable 300+HP at the wheels. As the project progressed he felt the 915 gearbox was reliable however he wanted a more modern tranny and in went a G50 but not without having to move suspensions out of the way to make room for the conversion. So as it snowballs out went the old suspension and in went a complete new turbo tie rods, bump steer kit, torsion tubes, turbo inserts and Bilstein coil-over rear suspension. While he was in there he decided to add the biggest and best brakes he can find so big reds were summoned in. A very clean interior is where the driver lived so he decided to add a stealth front and rear in dash valentine radar detector. Runs, Drives, Shifts and handles EXCELLENT like a Super Carrera should and this one is really a Super Carrera. Exterior paint is excellent and interior can also be appreciated by its workmanship. You cannot replicate the amount of work done to this car for double the BUY IT NOW price and someone will be getting a very stealthy, fast, fun and reliable 911. Everything works as it should including the air conditioner. All in all this car is tight as best air-cooled can be and probably one of the best driving targas or any G-series 911 you will ever find.
