For your consideration is this extremely solid, Dallas TX garage find.Originally purchased in Texas, migrating to San Antonio, then finally finding its home of over 15 years in Dallas, this 356 is very dry and would be worth of a restoration.
it is shown in silver over red interior, although the original color would be Ivory, the paint is in older condition. no cracking from excessive filler is showing, and I do not notice any accident damage
The body is in sound condition, as well as the sills, and floors.there is a minor amount of corrosion under the old battery where it seeped acid onto the metal, it is minimal and would not be a major job.
Both doors match the body number, as well as the deck lid.The original chassis stamp Is also present, as well as both color code, and body number tag in the door jamb.the hood is not matching
The dash is original and uncut, and retains the original radio, and working gauges.
When the car arrived, we prepped it in attempt to fire the engine, we cleaned the points, made sure it had fuel delivery, and installed a battery, once we checked fluid levels we turned the key and after several attempts It did fire up and sounded fine with no smoke!Leads me to believe it is a tight engineIt is not matching numbers, however it is not far from it, it is a 1960-61 356 engine I believe.
Overall this would make for an excellent outlaw or restoration candidate back to original.
I have a clean title, and can export to any country.
