Description

Selling my 1988 Porsche 944 NA. When I first bought this car it barely ran and did not stop. I fixed all of that and more. Why am I selling? Well, just out of time my friends. I really wanted to turn this into a race car and regret never being able to take it around the track due to issues such as not having the means to tow it. Just going to start racing go karts where I have the means and time to do so.

The Good:

1. Runs great engine doesn’t smoke.

2. Clutch is strong no issues shifting.

3. Replaced all four calipers on the vehicle as the previous ones were locked up.

4. Replaced all exhaust gaskets and replaced portion of exhaust that was bad.

5. Had the water coolant pipe over exhaust powder coated.

6. Put in new air filter.

7. Replaced all spark plugs.

8. Installed stainless steal brake lines on the front, I still have the ones for the rear sitting in the trunk.

9. Arm hatch lift supports replaced on rear hatch.

10. Sun roof works and does not leak, my god a miracle.

11. Look at those stylish rims with Porsche rim hub centers! 16 Inch!

12. One year old battery kept inside a climate controlled shop during the winter and trickle charged during that time.

Sort Of Good:

1. Needs timing belt installed because well I don’t know the last time it was replaced. Will come with brand new Continental Timing Belt Kit and Fly Wheel Lock.

2. Needs new parking brake shoes installed. Will come with a set of new Beck/Arnley Shoes.

3. I have a fuel filter for it. Threw the box away and the filter has nothing written on it. I checked the store where I made the purchased and it is a Wix Filter.

The Bad. Now remember I know this car. This list may not even be “bad” too you, but they either need to be done or I would have liked for them too.

1. AC does not work. The compressor makes some noise when first starting. Will need to be replaced or get an AC delete as was my plan.

2. The power steering hoses from the canister need replacing as they are starting to deteriorate.

3. Passenger side window does not roll down. I believe it is the motor.

4. I sprayed white lithium grease in the rear hatch holes to help the latch slide in. Get this, there were no issues with the hatch opening, I just did it because well seemed like a good idea. Well that white lithium grease needs to be cleaned off as it causes the hatch to stick instead of opening under its own strength.

5. Interior could use some work. The dash is cracked, like most of these cars. The carpet needs to get placed back in with the interior components in some areas. Backseat needs reupholstered, the portion with “Porsche” written all over it is coming unstitched from the main fabric. Driver side seat is in good condition the passenger seat could have that insert resewed in. The sun visors need the plastic clips to lock in. I will have more pictures of the interior soon, I need to vacuum it.

6. The obvious, needs a paint job.

7. Has that light rust on some components under the car where the powder coast has diminished. 30-year-old car is to be expected.
