Carrera Cabriolet
Description
1985 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet
This car is registered as 1986 although it was built in 1985. I understand that the vehicle may have originally been purchased in Canada (in 1986). The vehicle registration shows "Non USA". The vehicle has been registered in California since at least 1992.
The VIN for this vehicle is:WP0ZZZ91ZFS150651When you decode this vehicle, be sure to use the correct site as Porsche reissued this VIN. In searches you will find this matching this car, and a newer model.
I have the clear title, pink slip in hand, and the car passed strict California smog test on August 15th.
I have maintenance records for the last 15 years and have only driven the car for 11,000 miles in all that time. Although the vehicle has over 205,500 miles, it runs and drives well and has been maintained by the highly reputable A. Bauer Porsche of Oakland, CA. The engine and transmission were removed approx 5,000 miles ago to repair synchros and energizers.
This vehicles runs and drives well, but is sold as is. I will outline some issues that I have noticed. There are some paint nicks in several places with a couple of minor dings, but no dents. There are scratches on the drivers door from opening (see photo). The power windows work, but the window tinting needs to be replaced. I believe the car needs an alignment, or perhaps just have the wheels balanced. The rear tires are in good condition, but the front should be replaced and show some uneven wearing. The wheels are in great to excellent condition. A new top was installed about 11,000 miles ago, but 16 years ago. Please see the photo of the area needing some adhesion work. In a recent drive I noticed that oil pressure gauge was not moving although there clearly was oil pressure. The power seats have not been working. The passenger and jump seats are in good condition, and the drivers seat has some wearing/tearing along the side bolster.
Please note that I am selling this vehicle for my friend with ailing health. I am taken many pictures, gone over service records, and attempted to identify concerns as best as possible. Contact me for additional questions and I will try to answer you.
