Description
1965 Porsche 356C Karmann Coupe Listed on behalf of Monte Shelton Located in PORTLAND, OREGON. Produced March 19, 1965. Chassis # 222187. Engine # 717723. This classic 356 had one owner for the last 40 years - from 1976 to 2016. During that time the car was stripped to bare metal and professionally repainted in correct original Slate Grey color. Paint today is in excellent condition throughout, having just been detailed. Please see photos. Full upholstery was replaced in correct black leatherette. Prior to installation, the entire interior was sealed with DynaMat™ sound/heat insulation. The interior is beautiful, very correct and QUIET! New carpets and headliner. Body and floors are RUST FREE THROUGHOUT. Recently, less than 20 miles ago, the engine was completely rebuilt by a Porsche specialist, including Mahle pistons and liners, rebuilt dual Weber carburetors, 3/4 cam and lightened and balanced flywheel. Speced at 1720 cc., with Monza muffler for 15% increased performance, it runs smooth, strong and fast. I have personally driven this car. It runs, shifts and drives without fault. Excellent power on the freeway with great acceleration. Brakes stop smooth and straight. Please see video of engine running. All five wheels are matching chromed Lemmerz, date-coded 1965. Newer Michelin 165x16 radial tires. Period accessories including Hella 105 foglights, Durant sideview mirrors, Amaco luggage rack, stitched NOS shift knob and front and rear bumper guards and overriders (triple chrome plated.) Original working Blaupunkt AM/FM/SW radio rebuilt by Wilford Wilkes with upgraded Crutchfield speakers, working clock, original keys including transmission lock key. Interior door pulls. Leather luggage straps. CocoMats floor mats. Full tool roll, jack, wrench and knock-off hammer. Full hood bra. New correct tinted windshield. Upgraded with halogen headlights, headlight cages, LED tail lights and dash lights. New seat belts. Overall, this is an exceptional 356 from the final model year, this being #393 from the last one built. PORSCHE CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED. If you have been looking for a great example for show or go, this is it. You will not be disappointed. Recently, the market for quality 356's has been appreciating dramatically and in our opinion this car will be no exception. A realistic reserve has been set, based on quality and condition.
