1978 RENAULT R5 LE CAR - manual 4 speed, no power anything :P
If you don't like people turning their heads to take a second or third look when you drive by -- THIS CAR IN NOT FOR YOU.
I've owned this since 2009. It's been a "weekend" car for me, however the last time I really got to drive it like that was October of 2014. Since then I've been lucky to take it out once every couple of months due to my schedule. It's time to sell it.
It is a fun little car. If you're looking at this ad you probably know what it is, if not there's plenty of site that give good details. This is not a turbo, just a regular little 1.3 R5. For a nearly 40 year old car it's in amazing shape for a daily driver. It was painted at some point in its life, but other than that it appears to be in original condition. You can see from the photos the paint isn't perfect. A few chips and bubbles, but overall in very good condition. Interior, as you can see from the photos, is in very good condition - with a few wear issues.
With that said, it needs some TLC. If it sets over a week or so it is difficult to get started again. I put a squirt or two of starter fluid to get it going. It's been like that since a few months before I stopped driving it back Oct '14. Not sure if it's a carburetor or fuel pump, or something else.
There is an issue with the speedometer and gas gauge. They both worked when I got it, but no longer. I am not a mechanic so can't say what the problem is. The car has over 100k, not sure exactly.
