Description

1989 ROLLS ROYCE

SILVER SPUR

This is a NO RESERVEauction, meaning that the highest bidder at the end of the auction wins, regardless of the final price!

1989 Rolls Royce Silver Spur with less than 64k original miles.Several thousand dollars was recently spent to fully prime and repaint the car in original factory colors. The interior is similarly in excellent condition, with beautifully preserved wood, clean Connolly leather hides with no cracks and near-spotless Wilton wool carpeting throughout.

This Silver Spur drives and operates flawlessly. It starts at the first touch of the key and runs and drives just as smoothly as a Rolls Royce should. All of the warning lamps function correctly and illuminate upon start-up for an initial check, before quickly disappearing, indicating that all systems are working properly (please see the included videos at the bottom). The steering and brakes are spot on and have no issues.Recent oil and filter change, and fresh, comprehensive hydraulic service with all hydraulics operating flawlessly. The underside of this vehicle is just as clean as the rest of the car, is bone dry, and does not drip a drop of oil or fluid. The 6 ¾ liter V8 engine starts, idles, and runs with absolute precision and the GM Turbo 400 transmission shifts flawlessly. There is enough torque available that any speed desired is attained with just a press of the accelerator.Having new whitewall tires all the way around, this car is so quiet and smooth that you will literally sometimes forget that it is running.

After nearly a decade, 1989 was the last year of the Mark I Silver Spur’s.Cars built during this time are regarded by most enthusiasts to be the best and most reliable examples. As with any historic car, there is some expected, age-related wear. All inside gauges, controls and switches functions exactly as they should including all lights, the dual-zone climate control system including economy mode, ac condenser (works properly but will require a recharge), low and high fan settings, fresh and recirculating vent settings, 8-way driver and front passenger power seats, power mirrors, power door locks, windshield wipers, washers and headlight washers. The few items that could benefit from attention include the right front and right rear window motors and an adjustment to the track of the left front window. The headliner is beginning to sag slightly towards the rear due to the age of the original adhesive. This car had at one point been parked in a garage during a fire, and as such, will come with a title marked rebuilt. The car did not incur any damage other than some smoke damage to the exterior- most notably to the previously, factory-applied Everflex (vinyl) roof, which was removed and professionally repainted. Most people choose to have these taken off regardless, as they are moisture traps and often fade, stretch and tear.

Overall, this car is extremely solid and has been very well kept; I would have absolutely no hesitation getting into this car now and driving it anywhere.Inspections are most welcome and certainly encouraged. Please ask any and all questions that you have through the “Ask Seller a Question” link at the top.Thank you for viewing and best of luck in the auction!
