What we have here is a one owner, low miles, 1951 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith Touring Limousine with less than 64,000 miles on car. Her original engine was rebuilt in 2002 and has less than 500 miles on it since completion. With the exception of one repaint in the late 1960's (original color) this car is all original. She is finished in Black with her un-restored and complementary Tan Leather and velour interior. This car is a great driver/survivor, has an interesting history and has all original paperwork, receipts and books etc.
This is the first time that this 1951 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith Touring Limousine has been offered for sale since being purchased new in 1952 by prominent Halifax, Nova Scotia lawyer James McGregor Stewart. The car has a varied and interesting family history from being used by President Tito of Yugoslavia on a state visit to being balanced on four tea cups in an advertising promotion for the Wedgwood China Company! Ths 1951 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith Touring Limousine has a centre divider, is left Hand Drive, Chassis Number LWME 31 and is H.J. Mulliner Body #5258.
One of eight of this body style built by Mulliner, a complete, documented, mechanical restoration including engine rebuild and braking system overhaul was undertaken in 2002. There are currently 64,000 miles on chassis - less then 500 miles on engine since rebuild in 2002. Body, interior and chassis are in original, un-restored, condition. She had new tires in 2002 (less than 500 miles). Service records, shop manuals and sales literature are available. The car has been recently serviced and has been stored in a heated garage for last 66 years. She was chauffeur driven.
