Description

For sale a beautiful 1978 Silver Shadow II LEFT HAND DRIVE!
Runs and drives, but a tune-up is required in order to make it road worthy. The engine starts and runs, but I suspect a faulty alternator makes it shut off and then it starts again. Engine fires on all 8 cylinders and is verypowerful. Oil pressure is correct and there is no overheating. Transmission engages and shifts smoothly, and if you are familiar with the TH400, you know this is pretty much a bulletproof tranny. Transmission leaks some oil when parked for a long time, typical of this tranny, needs new set of seals. A/C runs cold, anddon't think it was retrofitted from the R12. I have a video of the engine running and the vehicle driving, if requested I can email them.
The brake system requires a secondary circuit bleed, but works and brakes great.
Paint looks good from a distance but since it's the original paint you will notice spider cracks and other imperfections close up.Leather needs some repair at the driver seat and refinishingthrough out, and the burl wood trim needs the clear coat stripped and reapplied.
Not in perfect condition, but an excellent candidate for some restoration work. Great thing aboutthese vehicles is that the a lot of the stuff is American made, like the power steering (Saginaw), transmission (GM), A/C (G/M), alternator, air pump and others, which makes them easily and relatively cheap to repair or replace. A lot of the parts are readily available aftermarket and I can provide the websites and phone numbers for the companies that have them.Luckily the big ticket items in this vehicle are strong and healthy! I currently am restoring a 1970 Silver Shadow, and without dedicating a lot of exclusive time for this, it will be done in a little over a year, and I can provide you with some of my experience and resources.
An absolute head turner, and and a very beautiful automobile, even in the less than perfect condition that is in.
Contact with any questions, I'll do my best to answer them. Clean title in hand. Tons of photos and videos available by request.
