this car shows no typical structural rust issues. yes, original red paint is faded w/attractive patina. I chose to only do a mechanical & functional repair/restoration on a very good solidcarleaving & showing it's original years of "it's only original once" condition. leaving it up to the next appreciative owner to decide whether to continue it's current look, or to freshen up the factory rally red withvery minordings of body work.it does not show up very clearly in photo, somesmall dings in the trunk lid from a garage cabinet falling on it during the Los Angelesearthquake some decades ago.

the later torquey 1700cc engine upgrade was rebuilt to stock specifications (other than the upgrade 2 bbl weber & dual exhaust) with the original compression ratio to run on any current unleaded & ethanol combination additive gasolines.

Sonett transmission in this car has noticeably peppier performance & better highway cruising capabilities than standard equipped cars without loosing much if any of their known great fuel economy. freewheel has been neutered.

an excellent example of SAAB's glory days of strong, overbuilt, solid, safe, reliable & economical production cars that are known for their race & rally international performances & wins.

this model is on the upswing of desire & collectability by knowledgeable auto enthusiasts. very few nice examples survived the years. this one shows great collector potential.

title & registration are clean & current in Washington State as a "collector vehicle" as it is probably so in other states. odo shows 71285 miles which is probably not correct.

car gets many thumbs ups & comments by both passing admirers & knowledgeable enthusiasts.

offered by a long time knowledgeable SAAB enthusiast that has owned, raced, rallied, restored & loved these unique Swedish humble cars.
