1968 Shelby GT350 4 Speed (Real Deal in Shelby American World Registry)
Description
This 1968 Shelby GT350 was shipped to Pletcher Ford (Jenkintown, Pa. 5/18/68) This info is in the Shelby American World Registry. Robert Wintermute purchased this Shelby Brand New from Pletcher's while studying to become a Pharmacist. He met he's future wife soon after and decided to sell the carwhen theystarted a family. We purchased the Shelby from Robert, whohappens to live 5 miles from meon 3/29/1978 and we are the documented 2nd owner of this rare Shelby GT350 Convertible (only 404 built). This car was born lime met, a color I didn't care for.I hadthe colorProfessionally change in 6/2011to the current color, which was a specialorder coloroption thatwas available in 1968.The paint is Show Quality! This is a52,487 original miles Shelbywith the #'s matchingmotor that I pulled to have rebuilt and stored for protection.I have the paper work for the rebuild. I installed a correct 1968 date coded motor that was rebuiltruns great and cant be distinguished from the original motor exceptit doesn't have the factory VIN serial number stamped in the block, which isnearly impossible to see with the motor installed. Both motors go with car or I will reinstall the #'s matchingand Keep the motor currently in the car. This Shelby is in perfect condition and needs nothing. The interior is originalexcept for the carpets and door panels. I have new seat coverswaiting to be installed but the originalsare still to nice. I have anAM/FMradio w/cassette but the original AM radio goes w/car.The Power Convertible top works perfect. There are no issues with this car.I have theoriginal build sheet for this Shelby.Where else will you find a 2 owner Shelby GT350 with both owners stillliving 10 miles from the selling dealership? Needless to say this car had a pampered life!
