1965 ROUSH SUPERFORMANCE SHELBY COBRA
Description
This Roush/Superformance collaboration takes the term Black on Black to a whole new level. Almost every part with the exception of the lettering on the gauges has either been painted black or black chrome plated. From the carbon racing stripes to the modern 18″ Michelin pilot rubber and giant Wilwood brakes, this Cobra manages to stand out from the sea of Cobra replicas. Some of the upgrades that set this apart from a standard Superformance Cobra are the Roush assembled 427SR engine making 523 hp, 525lb-ft, which is hooked to a Tremec 5 speed gearbox that funnels all the power to a Dana Hydra-Lok rear with 3.46:1 gears. Suspension is adjustable coilovers by Bilstein and the wheels are custom 18″ American Racing 427-series pin drive wheels. Giant Wilwood 6-piston front calipers and 2 piece rotors. The glovebox door is signed by Jack Roush. A Roush quickshifter sits on top of the transmission tunnel. The clutch and flywheel have also been lightened. The whole car weighs a featherweight 2450 lbs, and will run the 1/4 mile in 11.2 seconds. That's without traction, stability or launch control. This Cobra carries a clean CA title and SB100 registration means it is smog exempt (in California). This insane Cobra has only covered 3100 +/- miles from new and is personally signed by Jack Roush....This cobra was built together by roush and superformance as their calling card. It has been in their booth at many car shows. This is truly a one of one car built by the manufacturers themselves. The tires are a massive 275 on front and 335 on back...Nothing in life is perfect but this car is truly as close as you can get.
