Shelby American created just 50 examples of this car to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1964 289 FIA Cobra. This car is painted as a tribute to CSX2323 raced by Dan Gurney in the 1964 Targa Florio race.This fantastic car is in the Shelby Registry and is designated by the registry as a 50th anniversary car. Each car is issued a CSX7000 serial number as well as a numbered dash plaque. The car is titled and registered in Virginia as a 1964 Cobra (VIN#CSX7964).

Shelby American uses modern disc brakes, and a stronger frame. Shelby American built the 289 FIA Cobras for racing; modifications included a new dash, widened front and rear fenders, cut-back doors, new dampers, racing wheels featuring the pin-drive hub, as well as oil cooler scoops.The entire front of the car is clear wrapped to avoid any paint damage.
Under the hood:500hp/450lb-ft Ford Racing 363 cubic inch small block V8. It has been dressed with period correct Shelby valve covers, oil lines, oil cooler and fuel log. Induction is handled by four 48IDA Weber downdraft carburetors. Exhaust exits ahead of the rear wheels from period style under car pipes.
The transmission is a 5-speed Tremec TKO600, Brakes are 4 wheel discs with twin piston calipers. Front suspension is identical to the 1964 car with a transverse leaf spring and independent lower arms. The rear suspension is fully independent.This car is spectacular to look at and even more fun to drive.
