Description
INTERNATIONAL BUYERS WELCOME! PLEASE CALL ME AT (76O) 805-8O38 WITH ANY QUESTIONS. I WILL BE HAPPY TO DO A BUY IT NOW FOR SERIOUS BUYERS! This is a REAL 1969 Shelby GT350 convertible. Of the 194 total GT-350 convertibles produced in 69, it is difficult to imagine how many left are lifelong, rust free California cars and still have both of their original black and yellow license plates. Even fewer have remained in the same hands since basically new. I would think the number is extremely low for the ones left that are 60,000 original mile, unrestored examples. I have the Deluxe Marti Report for the car. It breaks down as follows: 1 of 47 with the Black Jade paint code, 1 of 18 with this paint/trim combination, 1 of 81 with the 351-4V Ford engine and FMX Select shift automatic transmission codes. It was equipped with the following: Power top with Glass Backlite, GT equipment group, power front disc brakes, power steering, Tilt-Away steering wheel, Deluxe interior décor group, AM radio, Deluxe belts/warning light, color keyed Racing mirrors, in-dash tachometer and trip odometer, 3.25 conventional rear axle. It is not a clone, tribute, replica or whatever fancy word people are using for a fake these days. All the Shelby tags, door data tag, and VIN tag are still in place. In 1971, William Arietta walked into a dealership in Northern California and bought his dream car. He walked out with this Shelby that had been a new car trade-in. The Shelby has remained in his care ever since until I recently purchased it. The car had been sold new at S C Motors on Market Street in San Francisco, CA. It remained in the Bay Area it's whole life until recently coming to San Diego. The car was always stored in Bill's heated shop alongside some of his 1932 and 1940 Ford coupes. The original factory VIN is still on the dash as well. The body is excellent. It is rust free. The doors shut with the kind of nice, solid thud that you get when you close it with one finger. The floors are in beautiful condition. There is no rust. The paint is very good. I believe it has had one re-paint in the correct factory color. It is not perfect, but it is fine at any car show you take it to and will draw a huge crowd everywhere. The bumpers are original and have some minor pitting but shine up nicely. It has the matching number 351W. It has had a different intake installed, but I have the original Shelby manifold in the box. Bill also misplaced the factory lid for the air cleaner some years ago. The Mustang runs and drives like a new 1969 Shelby. It starts right up, settles into a smooth idle, and performs beautifully. I will always choose a great original, bone stock car over a restored one. They drive better and if you appreciate Survivor type cars, you know exactly what I am talking about. There are no squeaks, no rattles, and no funny noises. The FMX shifts very well. The steering and suspension are excellent. The engine compartment and engine compartment are very clean and nicely detailed. All the gauges work well. All the lights work including the interior, glovebox, the fog lights, and even the light inside the clock. It has an aftermarket AM/FM cassette, but there was no cutting of the dash. The dashpad is like new. The seats, door panels, and gauges are excellent. Factory rollbar. All four of the windows roll up and down easily. One deviation from stock is it initially came with a black power top, but Bill preferred the look of the white soft top and I absolutely agree with him. The power top works very well. All four factory CS wheels. Owner's manual. Current California registration until 2017 and a clean, clear California title in hand. This is not a Barn Find. It is a very well kept, original, stock Shelby. I am not in the frame of mind of some of the Barrett-Jackson Fantasy World people who have their cars priced at $150k. I am going to sell mine for much, much less and far more reasonably than they will. Let me say, I am not a Shelby expert and I am not claiming to be. Then again, a lot of the guys claiming to be aren't either. Please feel free to ask any questions you need and I will be happy to assist you however I can. I have had about every kind of old Corvette, Mustang, Camaro and Hot Rod I can think of, but a good Shelby is far more difficult to find. This is your chance to own a good one! I am located in Cardiff, CA in North County Coastal San Diego. Thanks and good luck!
