1955 Studebaker Commander 2 Door Hardtop
Description
This is truly a barn find car. It was last registered in 1985 and when it was parked the battery was disconnected and is still in the battery holder with tie down. The interior is intact but will need to be redone. All the trim is there and intact. As you can see the car has surface rust and the floor and trunk needs rust repair.
This car was built in Vernon California and has the 224 V8 and DG 200 Automatic Transmission. The color was Windsor Blue on top and Alpena Blue bottom. The full size wheel covers are in the trunk. The engine does not turn by hand. The keys are missing but a local lock shop can make keys for the ignition and trunk. All glass is intact and has not delaminated. This car can be anything you want. Restore it, leave with patina, rat rod, custom or stock. This nice thing you can see is that it is untouched. The fit of the hood and front is spot on. How many times do you see a car that someone has started and left parts off? Now is you chance to do it right.
These cars were raced at NASCAR, on Bonneville salt flats, 1/4 mile as well as purchased new for the sporting look and drive. Low reserve.
