HI I AM SELLING MY 1963 STUDABAKER HAWK GT AND ITS IN EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION. THIS IS BY FAR ONE OF THE NICEST HAWKS I HAVE EVER OWNED. IT HAS ITS ORIGINAL 8 CYL 289 ENGINE AND ITS ORIGINAL AND RARE MANUAL 4-SPD TRANSMISSION. THE ENGINE STARTS RIGHT UP AND REALLY PURRS LIKE A KITTEN. THERE ARE NONE OF THE USUAL NOISES AT ALL. THE ENGINE PULLS GREAT. THIS CAR HAS ITS ORIGINAL CARTER 2 BARREL CARB AND ITS ORIGINAL AIR CLEANER. THE CORRECT DECALS ARE ON THE AIR CLEANER AS WELL. THE TRANS IS ORIGINAL AS WELL AND I HAVE NOT HAD ANY ISSUES WITH IT. THE CLUTCH IS STRONG AND DOSE NOT HAVE ANY ISSUES. IT SHIFTS GEARS GREAT. IF YOU LOOK CLOSLEY AT THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT PICTURES TOU WILL SEE ALL OF THE WARNING LABELS ARE STILL IN PLACE. THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IS EXTREMLY CLEAN. THIS CAR WAS ORDERED WITH TWIN TRACTION AS WELL AS MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND AIR CONDITIONING.
THE PAINT WAS DONE IN A 2 STAGE PAINT. IT IS A DEEP AND RICH AS IT HAS ALOT OF CLEAR IN IT. IT WAS KEPT THE SAME COLOR AND CLOSE TO THE SAME SHADE OF BLUE IT WAS ORIGINALLY. THE PANELS ARE RAZOR STRAIGHT AND THERE IS VERY LITTLE BONDO ON THIS CAR. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY NO RUST ON THIS CAR EITHER. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A SCRATCH ON THE LOWER PORTION OF THE DRIVERS DOOR THAT IS TOUCHED UP THE PAINT IS NEAR PERFECT. THERE IS NO OVER SPRAY ON THIS CAR AS THE ENTIRE CAR WAS DISASSEMBLED TO COMPLETE THE RESTORATION. AT THE TIME IT WAS RESTORED ALL THE GLASS WAS REMOVED AND ALL THE STAINLESS HAS BEEN REMOVED. AT THAT TIME AND ALL THE RUBBER WAS REPLACED INCLUDING THE FRONT AND REAR GLASS AS WELL AS THE TRUNK RUBBER. ALL OF THE GLASS ALTHOUGH I BELIEVE TO BE ORIGINAL, IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.
MOST OF THE THE CHROME AND STAINLESS WAS EITHER RECHROMED OR REPLACED INCLUDING BOTH FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS AT THE TIME OF RESTORATION. AND AS I SAID BEFORE ALL OF THE RUBBER HAS BEEN REPLACED AND IS AS NEW. EVEN THE FRONT GRILL DOSE NOT HAVE ANY OF THE USUAL PITTING IT WAS RECHROMED AND LOOKS LIKE IT WAS DONE YESTERDAY. THE DOOR HANDELS AND MIRROR ARE THE SAME.THE EMBLEMS AROUND THE CAR ARE ALL LIKE NEW AS WELL.
THE TRUNK IS LINED AND THE ORIGINAL SPARE IS THERE NEVER USED STILL WITH THE NIPLES ON IT. THE ORIGINAL JACK AND HANDLE ARE THE AS THEY SHOULD. THERE IS NOT A DROP OF RUST IN THIS TRUNK NON AT ALL.
THE INTERIOR IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE ENTIRE INTERIOR HAS BEEN REDONE. THE SEATS, DOOR PANELS (FRONT AND BACK), CONSOLE,CARPET AND ANYTHING I HAVE FORGOTTEN HAVE BEEN REDONE TO A REALLY HIGH LEVEL. THE SEAT BACKS INCLUDING THE ASH TRAYS HAVE BEEN REDONE AND ARE PERFECT. ANY ONE WHO IS FAMILIAR WITH THESE CAR KNOWS HOW MUCH STAINLESS AND CHROME IS INSIDE THIS CAR, WELL THAT HAS MOSTLY BEEN REPLACED AND IS EXCEPTIONAL AS WELL, INCLUDING ALL THE ASH TRAYS. THE DASH PAD WAS REPLACED AND ITS PEFECT. THE DRIVERS SIDE CARPET SHOWS SOME WEAR AND SHOULD BE REPLACED.THE HEADLINER HAS BEEN REPLACED ALONG WITH THE VISORS AND THEY ALSO ARE EXCEPTIONAL.
ALL THE GAGES WORK AS THEY SHOULD EXCEPT THE CLOCK. ALL THE LIGHTS WORK AS WELL INCLUDING THE INSTRUMENT LITES, THE INTERIOR DOOR LITE,AND THE HORN. INCREDABLY THE AM RADIO WORKS AS WELL. THE AIR CONDITIONING HAS BEEN CONVERTED TO R134 AND YES THE AIR BLOWS COLD.
THIS CAR WENT THRU A COMPLETE RESTORATION AT THE END OF 2014. AT THAT TIME THE BODY WAS COMPLETLY DISMANTLED AND PAINTED. ALL NEW RUBBER WAS INSTALLED AT THAT TIME. NOW THE IMPORTANT PART, THE FRONT AND REAR FLOORS, THE TRUNK PAN, ALL CROSSMEMBERS AND THE HOG THOUGHS WERE REPLACED WITH NEW PARTS. I HAVE RECIEPTS AND PICTURES OF THIS THAT GO ALONG WITH THE CAR. AT THE TIME OF THE RESTORATION THE ENTIRE CAR WAS REWIRED FRONT TO BACK WITH ALL NEW WIRING HARNESS AND ALL CLAMPS AND HOSES WERE REPLACED.THIS CAR HAS REAL CRAGAR STREETWIRE WHEELS AND 4 NEW 15INCH RADIAL TIRES ON IT. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL WHEELS AND HUB CAPS AND THEY ARE INCLUDED IN THE SALE. TO ACCOMIDATE THE LARGER WHEELS ADJUSTABLE REAR AIR SHOCKS HAVE BEEN ADDED AND THEY WORK GREAT. THE STANCE OF THIS CAR IS GREAT.
