For sale is my 1955 Studebaker E5 Pick-up.I purchased this truck 6 years ago from the original family owner, and have the 1955 invoice showing her trade in (1950 Studebaker truck), along with the purchase price and options.
Other than one repaint, new tires/wheels, and the interior refreshed, the truck is completely original with less than 74,000 original miles. The engine is a flat six (185 cubic inches) and the transmission is a three speed (column shift) with automatic overdrive, which works as it should. All gauges work, the climatizer (heater) works, and the radio works, but the tuner on the radio is sluggish/sticks, and the horn does not work.Included are the original wheels, and hub caps which have been re-chromed.Repaint was completed several years ago, and shows very well, but there are a few minor scuffs and scratches…I cannot find any rust on the vehicle. It does have a minor oil leak, and I believe the glass is original with the vent windows glass showing some age.
This is not an interstate driver, however it does very well at 55 – 60 mph and has been extremely dependable. We drove to a Studebaker Zone Meet (360 miles round trip) with no issues, and the truck won the participant’s choice at the zone meet.Great truck/time capsule!
