Description

Ultra rare car, there is not another 1977 for sale in whole US. This was one of the first production 4WD cars in US, unfortunatelymost of them rusted away as they were used in a snowy states. This one however is ALL ORIGINAL California car with NO RUST.
Info:
1977 (8/77 production date, probably 1978 model year) stage 2 Subaru Wagon 4WD, extremely rare quad headlight model was only made late 77/78/79), VIN number is:A67L021188EA-71 1600cc carburetedengine. Brat shares most of the drivetrain of the wagon, so parts are still available. This is part of Subarus history as well as 4WD history.this car shows 8900 miles on 5 digit odometer, whichmay or nay not be actual, but looking at cars conditionit is possible.
Subarus are not very collectableyet, but several experts I talked to say it will be, and it is so much harder to find than 70ies toyotas or datsuns. Estimated value of this car is 6000-12000 now and will continue to rise.
Car has:Original factory paintOriginal factory interiorOriginal engineoptional factory roof rack4 speed manual transmissionwith selectable 4WDAM radiorear wiper with washer
Condition of the car:
Body: is prettystraight overall and it seems the car was never in an accident. there are several small dents, but nothing major. there is very small amount of bubblingunder rear widow. NO RUST. no serious rust anywhere on the car, Underside is very clean and rust free. Car gas original dealer installed brush guard, skid plate, mud flaps, roof rack and rear spoiler.
Paint: is original 1977 RED with all the factory stickers present (under the hood / door jambs / etc), overall great shape, but a little dull and there is a bit of fading on the hood.
Glass: is all original. Windshield is cracked all other glass great shape.
Interior: is original black vinyl, and it is in decent shape. drivers seat has small 2" rim in the middle and some stitching that came apart, passenger seat has some damage on the side (in between doors) and some stitching that is coming apart, rear seat is in great shape, all the door cards are in good shape, headliner is in great shape. Carpet is in bad shape (especially front drivers side), dash is cracked, interior door handle plastic trim is in bad shape. One manual window handle broken, dome light missing cover. very cool rear washer fluid pouch intact and in great shape. There is one key that works on drivers door and ignition. ignition cylinder is worn and you need to make sure key is in properly before turning it. Passenger door lock is missing.
Drivetrain: Car runs and drives fine. Engine sometimes takes a while to start when it is cold, but once warmed up it drives great. Some oil leaking, no too bad. Front CV joints click when turning and will need to be replaced at some point, but it is still driveable the way it is. Spare tire is missing, but is easy to find as all subarus used mostly same wheels. 4WD works. Brakes work (could use some bleeding and fresh fluid though), clutch works fine. Transmission shifts through all the gears and reverse.
