1988 SUZUKI SAMURAI
Description
I bought this vehicle on ebay and drove it from Mississippi (over 700 miles) and it had over 89000 miles on it then. I put new tires (4), new clutch, new brake master cylinder, replaced the seats and new top ($1000). I also spent nearly a thousand getting the AC to working. I had to wire in a separate switch for the compressor but this is one of the very few Samurai's with a working AC. I also had it set up to tow 4 down, It has a set of wired in tow lights to plug straight into the trailer light connection and it comes with the tow brackets from E trailer and set up for the Roadmaster tow bar ( see my other listing). It had the paint job when I got it. I have had it for 3 years, almost. It has sat outside for those three years and has developed a few rust spots. Both sides around the windshield hinges as per the photo (both sides are pretty much the same) and on the hood (as per the photo). I tried to repaint the windshield hinges, bought a paint kit and it was a perfect match on the test paper. When I sprayed the hinges it did not match. I suspect that the rust has penetrated the metal in small areas near the both of the hinges. There is penetration on the hood in the area of the primer. I tried to show the the problems rather than show pics which do not show problems. I have had it to 75 mph but that was with a tail wind and flat ground. It was made in the day of 55 mph speed limit so don't expect much more. There is oil on the undercarriage but does not drip and has not gotten worse in the 3 years I have owned it, and I suspect that the problem was fixed. You have to tap the oil pressure gauge sometimes and the ignition switch does not always engage the starter. I also replaced the battery It is almost 30 years old so don't expect a new vehicle. I washed it but did not wipe it down before I took the pics. The extra parts shown in the last pic go with it but not the box they are in. There is no warranty. Bidders should be advised that I am way down in the Rio Grande Valley and auto haulers don't like to come down are a couple slight dents but I could not get them to show up on the photos so did not post the pics. One is near the door know on the driver door and one on the hood. There here. I sold my motor home so don't need a 4 wd any longer nor have the need to tow a vehicle. Ask questions. Thanks for looking. I will deal on the tow bar. NO RESERVE IT IS IN EDINBURG TX.
