Description

I have for auction a 1992 Suzuki Jimny 660cc turbo with 105,500 kilometers on the odometer. (Approx. 63,000 miles)
I imported this car last year as a project to repaint and restore to its originally intended off-roading majesty. Over the last year I have replaced both front fenders with brand new Suzuki samurai fenders which included transferring the brackets from the Jimny fenders to the new ones to ensure a proper factory fit, and powder coating them as well as painting the engine lining of the fenders in Chrysler black. After this, I had the car professionally repainted (including the door jams) with the original metallic-flake Charcoal Steel color. The rear taillights and front turn signals were replaced with aftermarket assemblies due to the original ones having hazy lenses which had cracked with age. The front bumper (which is also painted in Chrysler black) is an aftermarket part with freshly painted PIAA fog lamps.
As far as modifications are concerned, it has a racing seat on the driver’s side that really hugs you when at any aggressive angles off-road, a Momo steering wheel, an aftermarket horn, samurai wheels that are painted versa white and fitted with Grabber AT2’s for slaying off-road terrain, and a 2’ lift kit to aid that as well, leaving this Jimny with excellent clearance and the ability to mount aggressive approach angles without clipping as well as practical invincibility to high-centering.
Recent maintenance includes:
- The timing belt (this was replaced at 87700 kilometers and has a sticker showing this),
At 105,400km I replaced:
- Spark plugs
- Spark Plug Wires
- Oil change with new filter
- Air filter which was replaced with an Apexi unit.
- Transmission fluid (MT-90)
This vehicle looks like the bell of the ball now that it has been restored from its previous life spent off-roading through Japan’s dense forests and volcanic ascents, but trust me when I say that this Jimny belongs back out in its natural habitat. If you are one of the many red-blooded Americans who know how to best experience this country’s natural splendor, then this is the Appalachian/Rockies conquering partner for you. Hell, it’s compact but it can happily accommodate you and your wife or dog or even all three of you plus little Buyer Jr, all while still having plenty of room for food and supplies to enjoy while crossing a pristine pass through Yellowstone or just on your way west to Silverton. If you have an RV that can tow a carton of milk, this is also the same chassis as the Good Sam Club favorite small SUV tow-along for decades, the Suzuki Samurai, so there is no shortage of accessories to make this DeMontrond Rally ready.

This practical and capable vehicle will make you fall in love with driving all over again, whether you’re traversing your land in Texas, conquering Tin Cup Pass after the snow melts in Colorado, taking your woman to a beach where few can reliably drive back out of, or simply picking up groceries after heavy rain scares everyone else off the roads.
