1988 Suzuki Samurai Hardtop.
Description
The engine, transmission, and drive train on this Samurai are in good condition and good running order.
The right side windshield wiper had to be welded to reattach it to the body work which had rusted through in that area (see picture). The heating system duct work melted during that welding process. Therefore there is no heat.
The tow bar is bent upward from towing a friend's vehicle out of deep mud last year (see picture).
Rarely, but occasionally, the solenoid doesn't engage on turning the ignition key the first time. Turning the key off and on a few times always works to engage the solenoid and start the car. The car starts and runs very reliably. The solenoid can only be replaced along with the starter motor. I've done that but the problem persisted despite a second try with a second new starter motor.
There is no emergency brake. The transmission tunnel at the base of the brake lever is rusted away.
The plastic wheel well skirts are all glued to what remains of the body work in those areas.
