Description

I am selling my '81 Toyota 4x4. It's a great first generation 4x4 that has never been modified or abused. It has basically served as a daily driver for most of its life, and has been well maintained.
The long block 22r was replaced with a rebuilt engine 5 years ago. It still has the dual row timing chain, and the guides are in great shape - passes CA smog no problem. The carburetor was replaced with a rebuilt unit 5 years ago at the same time as the engine. Transmission was serviced by Marlin Crawler 3 years ago and they replaced the bearings, seals (HD), and fifth gear and synchro. Clutch was replaced at the same time with Marlin's HD clutch. Rear driveshaft was recently balanced and u-joints replaced. Front spring shackle bushings were also recently replaced. I also just replaced the front and rear lenses, headlights, windshield glass and seal, cap, rotor, spark plugs and engine air filter (all OEM from Toyota). Also just replaced the tires. I have receipts for all of the above work.
Interior is basically all original, with great condition door cards, all working gauges, switches and factory AM/FM stereo. Driver's side of the bench seat has some tears in the vinyl fabric, and some wear in the floor covering near the pedals.
Exterior has original paint, except for the right rear fender flare and a spot on the rear lower valence. A tire blowout damaged the original fender flare and the rear corner of the bed, necessitating replacement of the bolt-on flare. Otherwise, the truck is extremely clean.
It's a great running truck that I use daily around town, and have taken on long road trips without any problems. It does still have some small issues to sort out. Namely, the heater core is leaking (currently disconnected it), 2nd and 3rd gear are a little notchy, the rear pinion angle needs to be looked at as there is some noise and vibration under deceleration at 70+ mph.Lastly, one of the Aisin locking hubs needs to be disassembled and inspected, as it just recently stopped wanting to turn all the way over to the lock position.
I will assist with shipping the best I can as far being available for a carrier to pick up the truck. This truck is being sold AS-IS, with no warranties of any kind, including those of fitness for a particular purpose and of merchantability. Please ask all questions prior to committing to purchase, and have the funds ready for transfer. Thanks!
