Description

FOR SALE LOCALLY IN NORCAL: A very rare Extended Cab 2 owner find shown "dirty" so you can see it at it's "worst". I just bought a larger truck for my family and am selling this classic truck to someone who understands what it is.... What sets this apart from others, if you can find one, is it's amazing condition. You do not find one like this anymore, and did I ever look. I bought it from the original owner--an engineer who babied it--about three years ago. Passed CA smog a few weeks ago. Registered in CA until August 2018. Four brand new tires: less than 500 miles. 100% California truck.
No issues at all with any system. AC is freezing. Everything works. I decided to add an manually operated high capacity 16" electric cooling fan and removed the manual fan and clutch, which are fine and will come to you with the truck. I added this only because I wanted to take the manual fan's drag off the engine.
Other improvements are new original stereo speakers. You may want to remove the factory "high end" cassette AM/FM stereo unit and put in something newer or maybe you will want to keep it stock. I put in a smaller steering wheel which gives more room and easier control, but sorry don't still have the original. A new water pump was installed at 167K by the precious owner. New plugs, ignition wires, battery only a few months old. A new cat converter and exhaust system was put in 3 years ago shortly after I purchased it.
It has been super reliable. I really have not driven it much. All systems work on the car except the window washer. It has an aftermarket electric trailer brake system installed. I installed newer rear shocks and tie rod ends, and had a new high pressure power steering hose installed.
THIS TRUCK DOES NOT LEAK ANYWHERE.
THIS TRUCK HAS NEVER BURNED A QUART OF OIL.
Spare tire is excellent. All tools included, including the unused hydraulic jack.
The V6 engine pulls strong up to redline with no hesitation. Engine is perfect. Brakes are excellent: no pulling or other brake issue. Truck handles excellent with no wandering at speed; it tracks true and straight. It is easy to control at all speeds. The 5 speed transmission shifts perfectly with no noises. I also installed new headlights as a lighting upgrade for safety, and they are much better over stock. The 4X4 system works perfectly, and I have kept the bearings lubed by activating the 4X4 system each month for a bit. I lubed the truck's drivetrain and suspension last year.
A NEW CLUTCH AND BEARING INSTALLED LESS THAN 5K MILES AGO.
You will receive all receipts, shop manual, record file with the truck.
Cosmetics: The unwaxed paint still shines. My detailer said not to wax it as the patina is actually so good and desirable that way. Evidence of '90s clear coat peel on Leer shell only, not on the truck itself: see pic. But the truck really is a head turner. Over the years several people have left notes on the windshield wanting to buy it. Two areas not great are the vinyl cracking at driver's side seat, one crack on the dash--covered with a nice Dashmat-- and a scrape on the left front lower bumper, and a few scrapes on the bed wheel wells. See pics. The cloth upholstery is in amazing condition. Non-smoking vehicle.
The Leer shell is classic and all windows, locks, etc work perfectly.
This truck has no rust.
These trucks are becoming icons like the older VW campers.... People stop me to tell me stories about how their uncle used one to mule for a 3,000 mile bike ride to and within Mexico and back, etc.
I am kind of hoping this might be a purchased by an enthusiast or someone who would want to preserve this unmolested survivor.
If you win this you need to send a $750 unrefundable deposit via Paypal within 24 hours of the end of auction. If you want to have someone inspect it for you that will be fine. If you have poor feedback or have under 100 transactions you will probably be banned from bidding. I will be happy to work with a shipper for you, or I would not hesitate it to drive it home from anywhere if you wish.
The title is clear and in my name. We can do an electronic bank transfer, or another method that I've used is for the buyer to overnight a cashier's check, when verified the title is overnighted to to buyer. IN ANY EVENT THE BALANCE MUST BE PAID WITHIN 5 DAYS X 24 HOURS=120 HOURS AFTER AUCTION ENDS.
Please do not waste my time if you do not have the money and the ability to transfer it TODAY.
I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells locally first.
Good luck! You will love this thing. It needs nothing but a new home.
Note: the 18 digit VIN is correct, and bumper stickers are now gone.
