Description

1974 Toyota Hilux Chinook camper with the R1800 bullet proof 4 cyl. This is a one owner Toyota with only 70,000 original miles. This camper has lived a great life with owners that truly loved and took care of this little camper. It has always been kept in a carport and until 2009 was driven on the road regularly after the owners both lost their license due to age, the camper then was started once a week and driven just around the neighborhood. Mechanically it is in almost excellent condition with only one minor exhaust leak (it is probably the donut gasket) it has four brand new tires and the brakes have been gone through completely and now it's ready to hit the road again with dependability to go anywhere. Cosmetically it is in great condition with the interior still looking incredible, in the cab area the seats are in excellent condition along with the dash pad and all of the gauges but still look new. As for the camper area, everything still looks incredible and 100% original right down to the yellow plaid upholstery and the pop-up canvas is still in excellent condition to, it is basically a time capsule. The body is in very good condition with no dents or dings in the cab or cracks or blisters in the fiberglass camper. As for the paint, the lacquer is starting to crack and letting moisture seap under which has made the paint turn into a off white with a hint of rust but underneath that it is an excellent condition with zero rust holes even in the most common places where they rust like the door, the rocker panels, under the fenders and both cab corners. Looking underneath this Toyota you can tell it has never been out in the snow or bad weather it is virtually rust free which is very unusual for this year Toyota. If you're looking for a fun and very easy restoration project or a fun little camper that is big enough to get out of town with for the weekend or small enough to get around town in then this would be a great camper for you they are getting very hard to find especially ones this rust free and they are steadily going up in value now is the time to catch this great investment.
