I know what you’re thinking, that I’m crazy for selling a Land Cruiser at this price… I agree, however it should be at a higher price because there is no way I can put a value to her.
I’m not selling any ordinary SUV, I’m selling a family member, a part of my life, a faithful partner, one that I’ve shared more memories with than my wife or friends.
We’ve been together since birth. She was born on April 2005 in Venezuela, brand new from the dealer. I rapidly started to upgrade her and get her the best accessories that I could. The following months she was happy to know that I was an adventurer and would only share the best outdoor trips she could ever imagine and never be used as a soccer mom SUV.
We started with three “Fun Race” rallies, between regular trips to the beaches and “los llanos” and with only 5 months together we departed to our first expedition, Travesia 6 Fronteras… A trip around Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil, this was our honeymoon. A lot of different trips inside Venezuela and Colombia would follow in the next couple of years.
In 2007 I sent her away in a container, traveling by sea for 45 days to Melbourne, Australia. We met at the port and traveled the huge country for 43 days! That was our second honeymoon! Then she made her way back to Venezuela to keep doing trips every weekend for the following years… She enjoyed all my secrets, parties, hunting and fishing trips, girlfriends, wives (yes, 2 of them) and my two daughters. I sent her to the United States to have another honeymoon in 2011. We traveled all the way from Key West FL to Prudhoe Bay Alaska and back!! We loved the American outdoors and decided to stay here.
A lot of trips and new friends were made here in the United States, we have gone through Utah where she was awarded the Overland Vehicle of the year at Cruiserfest, Winning the Overland Challenge series in Arkansas, Red Clay Rally in Tennessee, Overland Expo East in North Carolina. She has traveled with different groups of friends to Colorado, Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia and even Mexico while crossing more than 29 states.
After being together for 12 years I can say she has never let me down, never needing a tow, never a major failure that could stop her from continuing her journey, NOT ONCE! During that time she has got to know me and my family very well, it’s been a very hard and sad decision, but times have changed and I know it’s for the best. She needs a new partner that can give her the happiness she deserves, take care of her and appreciate the life she will continue to live.
We have a diary together that you can check at oge4x4 dot com and if you are up to the challenge of such brave partner, this is your opportunity.
