Description

If you’re looking for an all manual, stripped-down vintage Land Cruiser, this will fit the bill. Great for daily driver, off-road vehicle, or a solid base for restoration. Toyota’s 2F engine is known as a classic and reliable performer, and this truck’s additional 2F short block update and head work at 129K should give this engine a long life. I've kept up consistent maintenance on this throughout ownership, and protected interior. Great aftermarket support and an enthusiastic online community dedicated to these.

Ownership

- (1998 – Present)

- Third and fourth owner (I’m technically 4th, father was 3rd as title was in his name initially, then transferred to me out of college).

- I’ve added 75k miles since buying from previous Texas owner in 1998. Original owner in Boulder, Colorado. See Carfax images for details.

- Reason for selling is that I acquired another ’85 FJ60

Current Condition

- This 1985 FJ60 shows 204k miles and is powered by a 4.2L F2 inline-six engine and 4-speed manual transmission. The engine has been modified with a 38mm Weber carburetor and headers.

- Current registration and inspection.

- 4-speed manual transmission shifts like new.

- Truck has been a daily driver for last 10 years and continues to run great. No off-road driving at all, just city and highway. Vehicle was mostly in storage while living out of state 2001–2006, with some basic maintenance (registrations, inspections, oil changes).

- No traffic accidents or collisions. Damage to the back left quarter panel done after running over tractor trailer debris on a toll road -- tire tread spun off, beating up the panel a bit, some rust over time and loss of some left side trim. Minor dent in back bumper, and a few small chips and nicks associated with normal wear.

- Dashboard cracked in a few places (aftermarket covers are available).

- Over life of truck there have been engine oil and power steering leaks. A positive outcome has been that the chassis has a good barrier against rust in most places (see undercarriage images). There is still a slow power steering leak even after replacing with new parts, I just fill it up every few months.

- Passed Texas safety inspection 4/21/17. Safety inspection only required in Texas for this classic car designation (25+ years old). Check your state requirements.

- AC (recently converted to more modern R134A from R12), heater, all lights, indicators, gauges, wipers (front and back) all operating normally.

- Original Alpine White with gray interior.

- Original cloth interior is in extremely good condition with exception of common driver’s seat tear.

- Gray Specter Off-Road Tuff Duck Seat Covers for front and back seats included. Great for keeping original upholstery in good shape. https://www.sor.com/cat309e.sor

- 4 BFGoodrich All-Terrains (31 X 10.50) + spare.

- Polk Audio speakers installed in front door panels several years ago, no stereo/radio included.

- New shift knob.
