1985 4Runner, no rust, built, ARB's, Marlin 4.7, 5.29 gears, bumpers, winch
Description
I haven't owned this long, but in that short time, I have already purchased a replacement for it. Job change, selling a business, moved, just decided that I didn't have time for a trail rig. All of the modifications were done before I bought it. I spent its life in Alabama and Georgia. I do have an auto-check history report that I can e-mail prior to auction ending.
Should be able to 'wheel it the day you buy it... or drive it to the grocery store.
Only 145,654 miles
No rust in body or frame, seats and dash are in surprisingly good condition. Has the vinyl floor, and I believe it's a DLX.
22re (meaning fuel injection), header, runs well. No leaks, and the engine sounds as it should
Dual cases, rear one has 4.7 gears in it
5.29 gears with ARB lockers front/rear
Long spline front driveshaft
Crossover steering
Bilstein shocks, and some type of 4-5" lift spring, Unknown brand, but I believe it's a higher quality brand, has lots of thin leaves, greasable shackles, etc. Both front and rear spring are longer than stock, and has drop crossmember in the front. 3-inch body lift. Comes with an un-installed steering box brace from Sky Manufacturing. Also comes with weld on type of steering stabilizer, since I didn't like the angle of the one on there.
Bud-built transfer case crossmember/skid
Braided extended brake lines, and all the brakes work well, including emergency brake.
tank underneath for compressed air, plus hose/fitting for airing up tires/air tools
38" X 12.5" X 15 Super Swamper TSL's on 15x8" steel wheels, also the tires/aluminum wheels in the one picture. The swampers have balance beads in them, and they're surprisingly balanced/round. Looks like 3/4-7/8 tread, and no visible patches or damage.
Tube front and rear bumper, and rock sliders, unknown brand
RS9500, 9,500 lb. Rough Country Winch
The fabrication/welding is way better than average... maybe an 8/10? There's no hack jobs or embarrassing things anywhere.... I've owned 5 of these, and have been in the 4x4 "crowd" for years, I wouldn't have bought it if it were sketchy I did buy it to keep, but that plan changed.
It supposedly has stock Birfields in it I'd be surprised if they weren't some type of upgrade. I bought it from a military guy who was moving, and he had only owned it for ~ 6 months. I was more knowledgeable than him, so I've just had to assess what I see, etc. I did not take apart to look.
Decent aftermarket stereo. I have wake/board boat speakers that go on the roll bar, but I'm not cool enough to be seen with them installed, and they inhibit view.
I do have the cover for the interior of the rear wiper.
Wipers, lights, door handles, rear window, etc. etc. etc... work as they should. Drives pretty decently, straight, etc. Has as much power as any 22re I've owned, and I've owned a few.
Odometer says 145,654, and I feel as though that is correct. The autocheck states 127,052 in 7/27/2001, and 150,000 when it was registered in June of 2017, but I believe the 145,654 is correct. The previous owner stated that 150,000 wasn't correct, that he just guessed when it was registered to him. It may go up a few miles.
For some reason the doors and tailgate are from a different vehicle, and they have different color interior panels. The driver's door has a little rust, but the body of the vehicle has no rust. Has some dents/scraps, appear to have happened off-road. Paint is the original color, and appears to be touched up/sprayed in places. No body filler anywhere that I can tell. No rust repair that I can find. The AC is complete, but the green AC light doesn't come on. The rear window works very smoothly, and works from the tailgate key switch. It does not work from the inside switch, but I believe it is due to the child lock switch being broken, but have been relocated, and I think that switch was probably hit by the transfercase lever at some point. That one isn't expensive, and I feel sure it can be bypassed.
I live ~ 1 hour from Charlotte airport... I probably wouldn't drive it across the country, but there's no reason it wouldn't make it. Cash or certified check, and I'll need to verify funds before I release vehicle/title. Clean NC title in my name.
I forgot... I have two spare rear axles that are complete with assembled backing plates, brakes, and drums. Also have a few parts like distributor, gas door, lenses, etc.
