All of the breather valves have been relocated above the motor for water crossings (if you like that stuff or for peace of mind) or if you want to take truck into the mud. The carbon fiber seats are heated the rear jump seats are in excellent condition. The motor has plenty of power with no more than 2500 miles on it. Truck has 4 speed manual transmission. The transfer case and locking hubs work perfectly. This truck drives well on highways or backroads and can be used as a daily driver. It has the popular ambulance rear doors ad the swing out tire carrier. As noted above the front winch is 12000 LB rated and mounted on a custom SOR bumper. The rear 8000 LB rated winch is mounted into the custom bumper. The rear passenger compartment has custom storage boxes built into the body with custom speaker boxes built on top. The snorkel is functional although I have never travelled in deep water or mud with this truck.
This a very powerful and strong truck in both body and engine power. I purchased this truckin 2005 with plans to take out of the country. I ended up staying and starting a family instead and have held on to it because I really love the truck and would only drive it occasionally when I felt like I needed a an ego boost from all the attention and admiration it gets especially from the kids.
I thought I'd keep it as a project and work on it as a kind of therapy, however, as more kids came along that just became more impossible an so it has just been sitting in my garage been driven on holidays. That said this is an excellent truck but it is not for everyone. This truck runs great, and can be a daily driver, however, you must have some auto knowledge and understanding of the history of these trucks to really appreciate.
The Bad...
I was unable to complete some of the projects I started working on this truck. The gauges were all converted to AutoMeter however some are not working properly or need calibrationThe compressor is working however I removed the air tank and have not replaced itThe radio is no longer working and needs to be looked at as to why, however, I am sure this is a relatively simple fix if you understand radio and auto electrical work, Also, the exterior Radio Antenna is brokenI had a tire damaged when I parked on street overnight recently and just replaced with a spare tire.So there are now only 3 BFG Mud terrain tires on truck
The Ugly...
There is some rust on the truck, on the front left and right fenders (which can be repaired or replaced with the aluminum fenders) Overall, the body is strong and rust is NOT a problem however it is the realty of a truck this age that it exist. Also, on the bottom of the ambulance doors(see pics)The Starter has been acting up lately, which means its probably gonna need to be replaced soon, however, you will be able to start truck up and drive away if you like.
